I bought these towels by mistake but once I found the holder I am very pleased with both!!'

The lid does not fasten to the box at all. That's just the way it's designed, but the lid has enough weight that when you pull the paper towel through it, it doesn't lift completely off or anything. That said, it does rattle a bit every time you pull a paper towel. This is simply because of the way it's designed. I read someone else's tip up using rubber bands around the box to keep the lid still. This works rather well. The lid still rattles slightly, especially as you go through the paper towels. But it's much less noisy. I will keep it. I'm still satisfied with my purchase with the addition of the rubber bands thanks to one reviewer's helpful tip. I think I will also purchase some colorful bands to jazz it up a little. :)

This is wider than the H2 folded paper towels as you can see in the picture. It does seem to work ok though.

Also there was a slight crack in one corner. Clearly the product packaging doesn't offer any protection, and the external box did not show any damage. At some point it must have been dropped on the corner. The crack won't affect the function, so I will keep it.

Aside from the crack, it is very nice.

At first I was confused why the lid was smaller than the box ( There is a gap on each side). I thought they mailed me the wrong lid. Then I thought I would stuff some paper towels on the side to secure the lid. I did this and it didn't work and then I realized they HAD to make the lid smaller so that as you use the paper towels the lid goes down with the paper towels. Yes the lid moves a little when you pull a paper towel out but there was really no other way for them to make it. If you check for a different one online, they most have no lid at all. Just a box. Now I know why.

So, I think it works fine. I needed to buy this so my piano students ( and their parents) when they use the bathroom they don't have to use my towel in there to dry their hands. I set this on my sink and it is working the way it should. If you are thinking of buying this, know that when you pull a paper towel out, the lid moves upward a little, but it doesn't come out or anything. It works the way it should and there was really no other way to design this and have it function like it does. The lid simply rests on the paper towels and goes lower as the amount of paper towels in there gets lower. I am happy with this and it works well for my home studio bathroom.
