Great fit and finish 98TJ SPORT

Fit and finish is great. It bolts right into factory bumper holes. I did have to drill extra holes on my oem bumper so that I could relocate my fog lites.
I love this style brush guard, not too heavy, easy to manage and work on the jeep with.
Highly recommend if you're not looking to spend big money on a winch bumper.

Fit very nice on my 1997 wrangler. Winch was a tight fit but I made it work with minor adjustment. Very easy to install.
Looks good on jeep

I just received and installed this grill guard today. I was amazed at the size of box it came it! It was HUGE! Grille guard was very well packaged; two to three layers of bubble foam and taped all over. I can see any way it could be damaged in transit.
The finish/ paint quality is pretty excellent too; no paint defects whatsoever. One small complaint about the pain though is it scratched very easily. I gently rested it down on gravel driveway and it has gouges from where it sat. I didn't by any means drop it; paint is just not that durable. I plan on in the nearer future painting the guard and my front bumper with a nice textured bed liner so the pain scratches are not of concern to me.
Installation was a little confusing at first.... i know i know three bolts per side but hear me out :P.
1)It should be known that to install the guard you have to remove your fog lights (if the jeep came with them factory) and relocate them to a center are of the bumper. Relocating the lights requires a few holes and splicing in about 12" of new wiring to reconnect the lights to their wiring harness. Wasn't much trouble at all for me.
2)When I undid the the tow hook bolts and placed the guard flat on the bumper the holes on the guard did not match up; I was about 1/4-3/16" off. But that was due to the rubber bumpers mounted on the front of the bumper; the grill guard base plates are a hair to wide and contact the rubber bumpers pushing the guard out of line with the holes... I had to remove the bumper to install the fog lights into a more central position on the bumper so that was no big deal to remove them. I didn't like the looks of the bumper/ grill guard without the rubber bumpers; so I ended up reattaching them and then installing the grill guard; though to do this the plate sits on the lip of the rubber bumpers and as you tighten the bolts it squishes the rubber down. I was quite satisfied with the look!
3)The tow hook bolts can be seized on there like nothing else! Took a huge amount of force along with some PB Blaster to break them free. Use a breaker bar instead of a ratchet if possible.
And when all was said and done and the guard is mounted it is SOLID! I bought this thinking it wouldn't be anywhere near as solid/ strong as it is when mounted to the bumper by two bolts. I thought it would have some give and flex; let me tell you there is almost none to be had! I was very very impressed! It could easilt mow down a large coyote or smaller deer; if you were to hit a large deal or anything of the such your going to be taking damage. Not much would save you from a bug animal at a good clip.
Anyways; summed up:
1)Was skeptical about purchase due to price and lack of information
2)Paint durability is not the best
3)Very well constructed
4)Very very strong!
5)Very very impressed!
Would recommend to anyone I know hands down. If I bought another jeep this would be one of the first things I throw on there. A++

Great investment to make your Jeep stand out from the crowd. You may not play well with others, and your punisher stickers may be peeling off, but this baby transforms the look of your Jeep from another mall crawler with angry headlights to a rugged pavement pounding machine. Need a T50 hex to install. Put a towel on top of it when you set it down onto the bumper initially so it doesn't fall back and chip your paint. I'm totally not speaking from experience, no way.
