No canned crab meat tastes like the real thing, but for the price it's not a bad deal. I've tried the considerably more expensive Miller's canned crab, and to be honest, it wasn't as good as the less expensive Crown Prince.

Having lived in DC for 8 years when my parents had a house (with a dock) on the Chester River X from Chestertown on the eastern shore of Maryland, I was spoiled as we often caught 3 dozen (keeper) Blue Claw crabs daily.

I was very disappointed since this product did not have the expected crab taste. Do not know how I can use the remainder of the cans.

This Crown Prince crab meat, while it does not taste all that great by eating it by itself, it does work and taste great when making my own crab cakes and my home made crab pizza with basil pesto & parmesan cheese. Tastes better than any I have eaten in restaurants!

I love crab meat. Have many great recipes and also purchase this brand and this product because it says on the can, NO MSG. I am highly allergic to MSG...stops my heart....so I am so careful any more about products because they slip it in under different labels. Crown Prince has other crab meat but I buy this organic one BECAUSE it says ON THE CAN NO MSG. If they ever remove that from the label, I will stop purchasing. Campbells used to put NO MSG on some of their soups and then stopped. I stopped buying immediately. I just learned to make my own soup bases or buy Kitchen Basic which has great soup with NO MSG. But besides this, it's good crab meat for those of us who live in Iowa.
