Every single American needs a Buck 110. It is ...

Every single American needs a Buck 110. It is THE knife that defined an entire generation and is perhaps the most dependable folding knife every made. Be warned: It comes extremely sharp. I shaved the hair off my forearm right out of the box. The knife is probably heavier than what you are used to in a folder, and this is do to the quality steel and brass handle. It sharpens well and retains its edge. It is a large folder, but the leather case is attractive. I wear it almost daily in the office without issue. Also, my state disallows concealed carry of fixed blade knives (regardless of size), but I can legally carry this large folding knife.
It's a great knife. This is my second one

What else can anyone say, when you think of Buck knifes, this is what you think of. It's a great knife. This is my second one, as I lost my first, which I bought in the mid 80's. Out of the box, it is razor sharp. And with proper care, I know it will stay that way. It doesn't have all the fancy bells and whistles of allot of other knives, but it doesn't need it. In full fairness, there is one issue these knives have always had, the tip is a bit fragile. I broke my last one using it as a screwdriver. It happened on my last one, and I fully expect it to happen on this one at some point. It's honestly not a big deal. Just grind it out. So don't use it as a screwdriver.
It is a Buck 110 what else can one say

Every thing about this knife screams quality, I handled my first Buck 110 about 40 years ago and coveted it then, This one looks and feels exactly like that one, it is great that Buck maintained the design and quality standards all these years. I agree with everything good everyone else has said about this knife, for this niche this is the standard all others strive to reach.
Reminds me of my grandfather's knives.

Granddad used to be an avid hunter and fisher and had some sturdy knives back in the day. This knife reminds me of those types of knives. When you hold one of these you say "they don't make them like this anymore" then you realize that they still do make them that way and that you're holding one of them right that second and then you buy it. It's feels like a great knife and according to everything I've read about this one will last me a long while for backpacking and fishing.
The kind of knife you want to feel on your hip

Really, a lovely knife! Feels so much like the one my father gave me so many years ago. My first knife ... brings back a lot of memories.

Appears to be excellent craftsmanship. The weight is what you want in a hunting knife. it's sturdy ... the kind of knife you want to feel on your hip.

If you take care of this knife, I'll bet it could last a lifetime.

Good blade and balance. I'll update this review after I've had more time to use it.
