Nice addition to the den!

This rack is beautiful..we used it to hang the surfboard in the den during the months when it is not being used. It makes a beautiful statement and a great addition to the look of the room.
Looks nice but I'd expect better quality control for the price

Pros:
* strong - held my 9'6 singlefin log without sagging
* looks great
Cons:
* grippy material that keeps the board in place has been cracking and peeling off (see photo)
* sticks out much farther from the wall than other racks for no good reason
Bottom line: I needed another board rack and I didn't buy this one again

Pricey, chipped wood, but did the job.

A bit pricey for what you get. The wood had chips and scratches and the drill holes were not clean. Cheap wood was used. Only a single screw holds the mount to the wall. In my opinion two screws would be the minimum.
Dimensions and weight specification would have been helpful with the installation and knowing what can be hung. I wanted the rack and board to be as close to the ceiling as possible. I measured the board width, but did not account for my board thickness and had to drill twice.
In the end, the rack looks nice and holds my surfboard along with a snowboard with bindings until my snowboard rack comes in. The effort to return is nog worth the effort. If I could go back I would consider other options or build my own.

Damaged parts, can't replace

This product looks so beautiful but when we went to open it, the finish is faulty on one piece. You'd see it from any angle and its large and noticible- like it wasn't dried before being packaged.
Now I can't have it replaced because I only just opened the package and its out of the return window. Yes, that is for sure my fault but I didn't expect to find them damaged in a perfectly fine box.

Exactly what I needed! This rack is reasonably priced and well constructed. This is holding a 9'-6" Hobie longboard, Tuflite epoxy construction. Installation note for novice installers: Either make sure you have accurately located a framing stud for each rack half. If you can't, get some good, heavy rated drywall anchors, one is required for each rack half. Do not use the provided screw to mount to drywall only, they will not hold securely and your board will fall!
Installed properly, this rack will hold a fair amount of weight, definitely any longboard! The fit and finish of the wood is very nice and I'm as happy as can be with this purchase!
