If you follow the directions you will get weak Thai Tea
Brock & JessDecember 4, 2016
Great Thai Tea leaves. My partner and I had to try making our own recipe due to the ratio's on the packaging tended to not be strong enough to our liking. (Restraunt taste) We ended up doubleing the quantity of leaves compared to water and brewing it within a tea bag.
i like this tea very much

i like this tea very much.
have purchased it several times.
i wish someone would make a Thai iced tea WITHOUT THE ORANGE DYE!
i rinse my tea before brewing it--in cold water to get the dye out---it is AMAZING how much dye people consume if they drink this---
straight!
my sink is filled with flaming orange color as i rinse this tea---and it takes several minutes to get it out---at least 5 minutes!
Just Like Restaurant Tea
Morgan S GibbsApril 23, 2013
I am FINALLY about to say that this tea is just like the kind you would buy in a restaurant. This tea mix has Thai Tea leaves and a few other things in it so you can JUST use this mix when preparing the tea. You won't have to buy lemongrass or anything else to prepare the tea itself - just the sugar, ice and milk.

When you make this tea, ignore all recipes you might find online and just follow the instructions on the label when preparing the tea itself. Many online recipes will call for a "few cups" of thai tea leaves for every few cups of water, but this mix is already ground up, therefore making it highly concentrated by comparison. A little really goes a long way and you will get many cups from one bag. The recipe on the bag calls for only 1 teaspoon of the tea mix per cup of water, and it is spot on.

To resemble restaurant Thai Iced Tea I found the proportions worked for me (assuming 3 cups of water):

-Boil 3 cups of water.
-Add 3 teaspoons of the Thai Tea Mix
-Let it gently boil for 5 minutes
-Take the pot off of the heat and pour the tea through a strainer or steel tea muslin into a heat-resistant pitcher
-Mix in 1/2 cup of sugar, stir until it dissolves completely
-Throw pitcher into the fridge to let it cool
-Fill a glass 3/4 with ice, fill it 3/4 up with the tea, fill some of the rest with evaporated milk, unsweetened condensed milk, heavy cream, or half-and-half (depending on how thick you like it, all of these are used by different people who make the tea, but condensed and evaporated milk are most common)
-Stir (or don't) until all of drink is orange
-Enjoy

You might need to add a bit more sugar or take a little bit away, but I've tried it with more sugar and it was overpowering, so I made it a few more times until I came to the proportion that resembled the Thai restaurants closest so I could share it and let you decide. Also, if your strainer is not very good I recommend spending an extra few dollars and buying a steel tea muslin from Amazon as well. If you don't it will still be fine but you may have a few pieces of tea leaves in your drink. You may even have to strain it a few times to get rid of the excess leaves. Just a heads up.

I hope this review was helpful. Also, know that as I write these last few words I am sipping this Tea. It is awesome.
That's exactly the Thai Iced Tea I crave

If you use a recipe from the Amazon reviews rather than that on the bag, i.e. use about 10 times more tea than suggested on the bag, you'll get the same result as what is served in restaurants.

What I do for a pitcher: 6 cups water, 1 cup tea, simmer for ten minutes, uncovered for the last few minutes to reduce it down a little, filter, add 1 cup sugar.

I made a large pitcher of this tea, poured it over ice in tumblers and topped off with half-and-half for parents at a recent kid birthday and it was a hit.
Pleasantly surprised

I've never been a big fan of thai tea, but my husband loves it, so I looked on Amazon for a thai tea I could make myself. I've always found that if I make something myself, it's more enjoyable than when I buy it pre-made, and this tea is no exception. I boiled it as directed and strained it through a coffee filter; the first time I made it I mixed it with sweetened condensed milk, which was very tasty. I then tried it with soy milk and a little honey which I liked even better. Added some boba that I also got on Amazon...Heaven. The only beef I have is that it has food coloring, which I try to avoid in my diet. I expected something more on the lines of whole leaves, but this was pretty powdery, which wasn't a problem, just not what I was visualizing. Overall, I'm glad I purchased it; my husband loves it and I enjoy it a lot, too. No more restaurant thai iced tea for me!
