Mine only works using the A/C adapter. I purchased this scale and the A/C adapter, separately I set it up using the batteries. It didn't work, the screen just flicked on quickly then would die. I was disappointed, and checked the voltage of the batteries, their install + and - to make sure everything was OK. No luck...double then triple checked...each battery was 1.632 volts dc. Perfect.

THEN, I thought I'd try the A/C adapter, and BAM, it works! And after weighing myself 3x, it was the exact same, to a tenth, each time.

SO, if yours doesn't work, borrow someones A/C adapter and give it a shot.

It's only been one day, but so far OK. Glad I bought the A/C power adapter!

So today the "Health o meter" I ordered on Amazon arrived, and let me tell you, this thing is such a pleasure.

Previously, I'd been stepping on a Weight Watchers brand digital bathroom scale, and that thing was super frustrating, because, first of all, it yielded very different readings from the scales at actual Weight Watchers meetings.

But, even worse, every time I stepped on the thing, it gave me a different reading. I could step on it five times in two minutes and get five different readings on my weight.

Very frustrating when you're trying to determine whether you lost or gained a few tenths of a pound and your scale can't even decide if your weight went up or down.

This new scale? I am so in love with it. I get on and it just tells me my weight. I get off, jump back on, and it tells me the same weight. I can jump on and off ten times and I'll get ten identical readings.

Expensive digital medical scale, I love you.

EASY!! JUST BUY THIS!! I have had this scale purchased from Amazon for over 3 years. It is absolutely AWESOME. If you weigh yourself and it says 185.5, then step off and get back on, you always get the same exact reading. I have never had a scale that would do this. The battery life is a minimum of 6 months. I have had one last almost a year. It is a quality build and nothing cheap about it. It has automatic shutoff after a minute or so to save your battery. The display cord is very generous in length. Display easy to read. It truly is one of the best purchases I ever made and I am 110% happy with it. It also is a well respected brand name that you can trust. Any questions, just message me.

Very consistent measurements. I can get on the platform and take a reading, then get off and get on again, Always returns to the same reading. I haven't checked the accuracy with known weights because I am mostly concerned with trending directions. I like that there is no obstructions on the platform. this enables weighing oversize packages without resorting to shim spacers.

This is the best scale I have owned. I generally do not trust digital scales, but this scale always gives consistent readings (I can step off and back on and get the same reading every single time). It is very well built and the thin padding on top feels solid and great to step on. There is also the option to display weight in lbs. or kg, and during all the years of use I've only had to zero out the scale once or twice.

I've owned this scale for years and still have not needed to change the battery. I do anticipate some issues changing the battery when it does die as it seems difficult to remove the battery from the hard "old school" plastic casing. Alternatively the scale can be plugged in via power adapter if I can't immediately switch the battery.

I look forward to using this scale for a long time to come, and it feels great to have a scale at home that trumps those antiquated physician's scales at the doctor's office!
