Great when you hanker for mushroom risotto and don't have hours to prepare it. I will buy again. This is the best brand I've tried in quick risotto, both in ease of prep and flavor enjoyment. I like to add things - vermouth, sautéed celery, fresh herbs, flavored olive oil, etc. - and this is a great base product for improvisation.

I am Italian decent and have always made my own risotto, this is fast easy and delicious. I often add meats to it or some vegtable and its a hit every time. Love Alessi products, wish you carried their organic pastas as well.

I really like risotto and have tried many varieties. This brand is routinely excellent. I used to get Lundberg, but since the rice is grown in California (crazy given the water requirements to grow rice!) it is too expensive and was inferior in taste anyway. The only competitor brand I have found is from Firma, but they are in Italy and no longer ship to the USA. I have tried many of the Alessi varieties and they are all vey tasty - and the price is competitive too.

This isn't quite as good as my homemade risotto, but its ease of preparation earns it a place on my list of regular purchases. I add extra mushrooms and other fresh vegetables such as onions, peppers and squash, plus cooked diced chicken for a complete quick meal. The arborio rice and porcini mushrooms aren't readily available where I live, so this is a convenient way to get those delicious ingredients.
