They do the job. Keep your junk cool. But they're expensive.
LexNoir✓ Verified Purchase•August 24, 2023
I got these because I have to dress up for work. My crotch is constantly sweating, so bad sometimes it soaks through my boxers and then starts showing through light khakis. Likely because my legs seem to always be closed and I get hot easily. VERY embarrassing! I had to find some breathable boxers. These do the job! No more sweaty crotch sweat showing through my pants.
Pros:
Does the job of letting your junk breathe.
Every female that's seen me in them says they're super sexy. It's probably just my junk that's sexy not the boxers. :)
They look very stylish
Cons:
The thread starts to de-thread after a few washes.
They're expensive.
They tend to roll up from the bottom of the legs and into your crotch. FYI: I'm African-American male, I probably have more thigh then your average Caucasian so maybe they won't roll up on you. It drives me crazy however, I'm constantly reaching down to unroll them. But I'm getting used to it.
They smash your junk up so it hides the bulge that your dress pants might otherwise show. This could be a good thing or a bad thing

I bought these boxer briefs because I needed something to workout in that didn't conduct a lot of sweat and that would breathe a little bit while working out. These do just that. They are perfect for working out and very comfortable for even just walking around the house. For those of you who are like me, your going to look at the price tag and have a mini heart attack. Well after you've been brought back you'll know that you are getting what you paid for, quality and mega comfort. These are the BEST pair of boxers I own. The only thing I don't like is they are kind of see through. So you cant be walking from the bathroom to your bed room with anyone around. With that said, I bought another pair after getting these in the mail. Don't put these in the dryer, anything elastic will deteriorate over time with excessive heat so keep that in mind when buying these or anything elastic.
Comparison with ExOfficio and other Calvin Klein boxer briefs
S & J✓ Verified Purchase•July 22, 2023
I've tried many boxer briefs and this Modal is my favorite. Lightweight and exceptionally breathable (great for hotter weather), stretchy with medium snugness (not loose, not tight), and amazingly soft (much better than cotton), with a very comfortable microfiber waistband. I barely know that I'm wearing them, which to me is the best sign of a quality brief. What makes it great is the 92% modal fabric (a type of rayon that has some remarkable advantages over all other materials I've tried). Here are comparisons with other boxer briefs that I've tried:
vs. ExOfficio GiveNGo:
The ExOfficio has a slightly looser, less snug fit. It also had a big durability issue for me. Prior to washing (straight out of the box), I wore the ExOfficios in some regular jeans while doing some outdoor work, with lots of crouching. Because of the normal abrasion of the jeans on the briefs, the ExOfficio's mesh-like material frayed severely in multiple places. The Modal in comparison has a tighter woven, stronger, non-mesh fabric. Also, after a few washes, I've noticed that the ExOfficio has lost much of its initial softness.
vs. Calvin Klein Steel Micro:
The material is just as soft (maybe more so) as the Modal but a little heavier. It is more form fitting and snug and actually keeps things in place better than the Modal (which can have a slightly baggy appearance around the crotch). Very flattering smooth fit. Extremely comfortable and a little more durable as it is a bit thicker and more densely woven than the Modal (the fabric is also different -- a 89% nylon that Calvin Klein describes as a "steel microfiber"). Because of this though, it doesn't breathe as well. Another minor drawback is the big dramatic waistband, which can fold over easily accidentally because it is so wide. The Modal is noticeably cooler to wear in the warmer months (as is much more breathable), but the Steel Micro is my favorite brief for the colder months.
vs. Calvin Klein Micro (or "CK One Micro"):
This lightweight brief is has the tightest fit (a little too much so) of all other Calvin Klein models I've tried and makes the Modal seems almost loose in comparison. It's 89% nylon and soft but it's breathability is a bit less than the Modal. Also, after about a dozen washes, the fabric formed some minor pilling (little balls of fabric that stick to the brief) on the interior, mainly around the crotch area where the fabric is thicker. Not good.
vs. Calvin Klein Microfiber:
These briefs have a form fitted, snug and athletic look that is actually quite flattering and attractive. The problem is that, aside from being a little too tight for me, the 90% polyester blend is a relatively uncomfortable fabric. It feels MUCH different than the modal "“ scratchy, shiny and slippery (that feels odd next to jeans), and it doesn't breathe as well. The Modal has a notably more comfortable, softer, more relaxed, "I barely know it's there" feel.
vs. Calvin Klein Cotton Stretch Boxer Brief (3-pack):
The softness on this brief doesn't remotely compare to the Modal. Despite being all cotton, they are surprisingly rough. They are also a tad heavy and constricting. They don't breathe that well. The "stretch" is also fairly pathetic; they are too tight and aren't nearly as forgiving as the Modal. Also, the waistband is awful -- it's on the tight side, and the fabric is extremely rough and irritating. They are much cheaper, but the Modal is on a whole different level of quality.
vs. any cheap 100% cotton boxer briefs (including Calvin Klein models):
Don't do it! They are cheap for a reason. Of the many that I've tried and owned, none are as soft as this Modal, plus cotton tends to be heavy and doesn't do well in warmer weather (once you start sweating, they don't dry out easily and then it feels like you are wearing a diaper). Also, if they aren't the stretchy kind, they tend to be excessively baggy in the crotch area (to accommodate different sizes). Spend the extra $ for a more flattering and comfortable fit.
vs. trunks, and the ride-up factor:
I recommend staying away from trunks, as their short length makes them prone to ride-up. The Modal has little to no ride-up, as is typical of most boxer briefs. Note that the Modal it is not super snug though, so the fabric can move around a *little* bit.
I've owned this Modal for a while and for the most part, they are still like new. If they become looser with time, it is slight; in fact, I have one that is two years old and another I just purchased, and it is hard to tell them apart. I wash mine in cold water and line dry because I'm extra careful, but that probably isn't necessary (warm water and low dryer heat should suffice). Remarkably, there are still as soft as ever and have retained their color and shape after countless washes (these are typical qualities of the modal fabric). There has never been any fraying or pilling. Durability is very good, though one of the five I own one did develop a 1/4" hole in the back (but hasn't grown over many months, so I still wear it). Though the fabric is strong, it IS thinner than many other briefs, so it can be vulnerable to tears relative to the heavier briefs.

I won't complain ever again about how much women spend on underwear as these boxer briefs make you feel like a millionaire.

Okay, I am a guy and we are not suppose to buy expensive underwear. I have worn the inexpensive brands for five decades, such as Hanes and Jockey that you get a multipack for what a single pair of these boxer briefs can cost you. If you ever wonder why women spend so much on fancy underwear, just buy one pair to find out. The slight amount of elastane makes this stretch and conform to your legs without binding. The 6" inseam keeps me from chaffing and the Egyptian modal cotton just feels better than any of the less expensive varieties that you can get.
I like the neutral black color and the fact that the branding label "Calvin Klein" is not excessive like my Under Armor athletic compression shorts. They also fold into a small size in the drawer or a suitcase. Please note that they don't have a flap in the front so it changes the way you address how you cope with a urinal.
Okay yes they cost a lot even on sale, but they are indeed they are worth the money.

i stumbled upon these for sale at Von Maur 3.5 years ago. i know when it was because i was waiting for my youngest son to go off to college before i bought some new schmancy underwear and he cobbed it.
this stuff is made of modal. if you know what that is you are better than me.
what i know is this stuff is heavenly. smooth as a kiss from a baby.
you hardly know its on and it doesn't sweat.
I work at a rough job all day and it keeps me cool and pretty dry-- but who cares about that.
You're not buying under armor you want to know if this stuff is any good.
no. it is not good. it is flat out amazing, silky smooth and yummy.
only thing is after 3 years the bottom cuff is separating. you put your leg in and the cuff pulls away a little more each time.
you cannot fix it so i tossed a few pairs and am buying three new pairs each payday till i have enough,
better hurry our I'll buy yours.
oh, on final bummer in an almost perfect pair of briefs. i have these in boxers and full long pants., after a while something happens to the front of them., something, a coating or some part of the surface wears off and it looks like you sprayed the pants with something white. kinda yucky. but these suckers aren't cheap so with the long ones i'm wearing them backwards so people dont think i'm a perv or something.
Wonderfully made. the shirts and shorts and longgy pants. all delicious.
