IT WORKS GREAT! We have a macadamia nut tree here on Maui; mac nuts are really hard and spherical so are nearly impossible to crack open. This cracker works perfectly - adjustable for the various size nuts. The handle is just long enough to provide the necessary force; could be a little longer for those woth less arm strength. It is threaded in and I'll probable make a longer one.

Good cracker- when modified. Out of the box it would split each small pecan into 4 long pieces that were very hard to shell. I compared this cracker to my broken Squirrel cracker and saw that the Duke's cracker has very flat striker faces. I used a 1/2" bit and drilled a 1/4" depression into the center of each striker face to replicate the Squirrel striker faces. Now the Duke's Cracker works very well!

We have an english walnut tree and get about a bushel of walnuts yearly. I've tried various nutcrackers and by far this is the most awesome. It makes it possible to crack nuts effortlessly and very quickly. It does not smash the nut meat, just annihilates the shell. (Note: just put your hand over the nut when you crack it to prevent shell from flying). I love this gadget! It makes cracking walnuts fun. It is solidly built so I would think it would last a lifetime. What a great price to. I am so glad I took a chance on this product. Very very happy with it. I almost never give 5 stars on products, but this one deserves it.
