I am hesitant to complain as I am not sure that my situation is germane. The mat lays down perfectly, interlocks and does provide a nice level of cushion. I noticed a big difference. In my case I have it around my wood lathe. There are a lot of shavings and chips, like several 55 gallon drums full in a day of work. They get under the mat which then separates and becomes a tripping hazard.
In retrospect I should have purchased a big single mat.

i got this to work on my car/bikes anytime i need to kneel on the ground and it works great. i like that i can only use one section at a time if needed. it very light, provides enough cushion and easy to clean. i'm not sure how it would work if used to stand on daily but for my needs its great.

We purchased this matting to use as a floor for a home gym area. The mats are comfortable to walk on and lay on for doing most basic workout actions (push ups, sir ups etc etc)
The reason it gets 4 stars are the mats at some points do not fit snugly together as interlocking pieces. It's not a huge deal but it does detract from the look of the floor.

These mats are awesome! I put them down under a rug in my kitchen so my feet didn't revolt after long days/nights of cooking and baking, and I have to say, they work really well. They are springy enough that I am not just standing on the floor with a mat compressed under my feet. I was surprised at how thin they were, and at first I thought this may mean they weren't cushion-y enough, but that is not the case. One star off for appearances, as they are pretty ugly and don't have enough edging to go round if you don't use it as one big block, but I just put my kitchen rug down on top and Voila! (Initially, I planned on painting them with a stencil to de-uglify them, but since my rug fit over them well i decided against the extra work, but it may work well for others...)
