Overall, I really do like this & it does do its job for me (with the mesh top attached). My Dixie Delilah loves taking naps in it even when she isn't locked in as she is when I leave for errands. But, fair warning for pet parents with dog who climb. She is an 8 lb. Chihuahua & the first time I left her alone I returned to find her out of the pen. So, I placed her back in it & laughed as she climbed right out with ease. Since purchasing the mesh top & attaching it, she has not been able to escape. Assembling & breaking the pen down itself is extremely easy. Attaching, removing & re-attaching the mesh top is more time consuming & can be somewhat uncomfortable if you have arthritis in your hands as I do due to all the Velcro straps.

First, our 1.5 lb 10-week-old Maltipoo is able to easily climb it like a ladder and escape; the spacing of the horizontal bars is perfect for this. Needs the pattern redesigned or include a top. Secondly, it's not good for crate training if you intend to use it for this purpose. For a dog small enough to not jump out, it provides enough room to sleep in one area and dirty another. If your dog is large enough to take up enough space that he would not dirty in it, he'll also be large enough to step out of it. It's probably fine for a bunny or guinea pig.

I knew I was going to need a secured area for the new puppy. This was priced so well, I went back and bought another. The quality is nice and it's made well. It's not too heavy or overly awkward to move. Course, as you get older, like me, the great price made it a no brainier to buy another so I didn't have to move it up and down stairs each day. They can be joined together to make a larger pen. I'm going to utilize that option too this summer outside or in the garage.

WorKS great for my little pup (pug). We'd put her kennel in there w/o the door and some puppy pads for bedtime and while at work when she was really young. She did great making the kennel her safe place and still being able to go potty if she just couldn't hold it. Now that she's older, we have opened it up proppedal against a wall so she doesn'the roam the entire house looking for alternatives to outside for potty breaks. I would recommend placing it against a corner so it doesn't fold up though as the frame can shift though.

My dachshund is a jumper and had injured his back. I bought this pen to crate him for 8 weeks. It was very practical because I was able to lift him out from the top. Plus the pen was big enough to put his bed and food and water dish inside and still gave him a little room to move around. Now I use the individual panels to block off the couch and chairs so he cannot jump up anymore.
I found installing the door somewhat cumbersome because of the tiny screws and it would have been much easier if the door had already been assembled. Actually for what I needed the pen, I could have done without a door all together.
