Used it for 5 years. Greatest shipping scale ever.
StephanSeptember 19, 2017
I've used this scale since 2011. Never had a single problem with it, never changed the batteries once, still accurate. You just can't ask for any more, this is my favorite scale. A major leak in our warehouse finally did it in, but to it';s credit it does still turn on. I just bought another to replace it.

My only criticisms are the startup time. and the fact that it only weighs grams in increments of 2.
After over three years - I am truly happy with this product.

After over three years - I am truly happy with this product.
I do use it relatively lightly but I measure both light and heavy stuff, from a few ounces to 45 Lb. The removable control head is great but this is the only week spot: the curled wire that connects the head to teh scale is not curled anymore, and I have to hand stuff it into the scale body. A little awkward but very minor.

After using it this morning to deal with a suitcase of a family member that is about to fly, I realized that this suitcase alone saved more than teh scale cost... So I decided to go down and write a review. Well done.
Love these scales

Hey, this is my third Ultraship. Love these scales. My oldest is almost 10 years and going well. I got a new one this past December and it's been working great until tonight. I have never seen this happen before. I use it daily for epoxy molds (less than 5lbs is ever on this scale).

Tonight when I started it up it said CAL then it said 19254g. With nothing on it.

I restarted it and it read exactly 10,000 then jumped to 20,000 then to -10,000 then ERR.

Checked the batteries and they are 1.55v each (x 4 of course) So fresh.

I tried calibrating by pushing the Unit button and ON. I can only get it to say CAL. As soon as I do I see it goes back to the 19254 then jumps to 44500 or so. If I take the weight off it drops back down to 19254. Very weird. Can you explain?

Any help is appreciated. Using my antique ultraship for now, but I don't have a backup at this moment and I can't go without one. Thanks!
Good Little Scale

I use this to weigh wood blanks so I can get an idea of the moisture level in the wood. I weigh the piece when I first get it, then weigh it again several months later. I continue doing this and when the wood is no longer losing weight I know it has reached equilibrium and is ready to use without fear of warping. This scale is very accurate and consistent, and with the removable face it makes it easy to read the scale. You can weigh stuff in units of grams, pounds, pounds & ounces, and in kilograms. Being American I always use pounds and ounces. Maybe someday I'll start using the metric system as I believe it to be superior, but living in this part of the world everybody used imperial units.

I chose to get the scale with the ac adapter as I wasn't sure if I would have one of the right voltage that would fit.

Overall this is a really good little scale and I'm glad I bought it.
Great mid range scale that is easy to read, but has a couple issues

I purchased this scale back in Jan 2014 and have found it to be very serviceable. It handles heavy items well, though the platform is small and I like to weigh boxes a lot. I had to get another scale to do that better. This scale is now mostly used for weighing products, smaller boxes, and other items between 5 to 20 lbs normally. The weight locks on after a couple seconds which is nice, though it goes through a count at the beginning of 0-9 which takes a bit. My guess is it is going through a diagnostic or calibration of the scale. I don't use it for really light items because it is not sensitive enough. Other reviewers have complained that it isn't accurate enough and could be a couple ounces off. Not a problem when weighing heavy things, but for really lite mail or books, it won't do so well. What do you expect though from a scale that can handle up to 55 lbs? Probably better to get a scale that is more sensitive.

The display is really nice. It is clear, easy to read, and once you get used to the circle indicators which tell you the unit of measure, it is fairly simple to know what the weight is. The display detaches from the scale which is nice when weighing larger items or you want to put the display up on a wall or something. Keeping it attached makes it hard to read the numbers, but I worry about the cord getting broken if the panel is separated from the base. Putting the cord back is not that easy, but it is doable. Just realize it won't be a quick task.

The battery life is really good. I usually keep it off and only turn it on when I have something to weigh. Sometimes it will go a few months between battery changes. My model doesn't have as clear of writing on the face, but it is essentially the same. So it would appear that they are trying to make improvements.

For the money, this is a good scale, and you will get a lot of service from it. It is good for mid range items though, not really lite envelopes or really big boxes. So you will have to decide whether you need something that may need to be more sensitive, or if you have really large packages that won't fit on this platform.
