What a difference 20 years can make!
Alicia ScharerSeptember 6, 2017
I have been an avid workout dude for 36 years. Started with free weights and continued to progress into a massive individual at 6' 2" 250lbs. When I turned 35 I decided to go a different route and bought a Bowflex Power Pro XTLU model. I had all the rods and accessories, even the squat station. The machine build was just o.k. The workouts were great, and I got stronger and cut, but for some reason I wanted to get bigger again. I dumped the bowflex and went back to dumbells etc., got ripped and then started to realize I had to spend a lot of time maintaining the mass. One day when working out I almost tore my rotator cuff, Realizing at 52, married for 20 years, and not have anything to prove to anyone, I sold that equipment and bought the Bowflex Blaze. Wow, what 20 years can do to perfect a product. This thing is a tank. High quality and way more bang for your buck than the extreme se 2. Blows away my Power Pro XTLU by a long shot. Bowflex advertises 60 + exercises when really there is over 80. They advertise the extreme se 2 as 70 + to get you to pay 500 more and truly not get the same variety of exercises. It is a marketing ploy. In addition, the no pulley weight change system on the extreme se 2 is ok, but having to hook a couple cables up is no big deal to me, and now that they are integrated in the Blaze it is much easier. The Power Pro XTLU was exhausting. The Blaze is the better deal. I almost bought the extreme se 2 and I am glad I did not ( of course the wife helped with that decision...haha) Look, if you want to stay in shape, build some muscle and tone the body this gym can do it. I know some might say I sold out, but at the end of the day it's not how much you can lift but how ya look! You will not be disappointed. Delivery was excellent and I paid Amazon to build it. Would do it all over again.
Excellent!

This machine is built very well and should last a long time. My old bowflex power pro is still going strong but since I got it 19 years ago I figured it was time for an upgrade. Many nice improvements and really like the fact that the leg extension/curl and lat pull down are built in. It folds up nicely and looks great. Still get the same great workout. If you don't like going to the gym , waiting in line and listening to music being played on the intercom that you don't like....then I think you will really like this bowflex. It takes about one minute to set it up from the folded position to your first exersise I do a 30 minute work out 3 times a week and have no excuse for not doing it,because it's ready to go when I am 24/7. Best part...no gym fees and pays for itself in a couple of years.
I love this product I love this product I use it ...

I love this product I love this product I use it every day I've lost 23 pounds in six weeks in conjunction with my new flex belt and a new diet I couldn't be happier. After a back surgery in 2000 I have been unable to get to the gym or lift anything superheavy so this is a perfect alternative and if I get too tired I can just let go no harm no foul
Great Home Gym!

I looooove the Bowflex Home Gym. This product is great if you are looking for a weighted system in order to get into shape. It comes with a book of all sorts of different exercises that you can do with it, which really helps in case you are unsure of what you can do with it. I've had it for 3 weeks and can already see an improvement from using it.

When you receive it, I will admit there are a LOT of pieces to put together. But just for the record, I'm a female and I put it together in one night on my own. (May want to use your own tools).
I LOVE IT! Easy to put together

I LOVE IT! Easy to put together. I'm 5'4 tall female and did it by myself. Just took a while probably 4 hours, but I didn't rush. I took my time to make sure I understood the directions. Make sure when you have the base portion set up, that you have the spacing aligned for where you want this machine to stay. You will see in some reviews that there is a minor hassle of having to switch the amount of weight you want for each exercise. In my opinion, this is nothing more than taking a break between the different types of sets you would do on weight machines - moving around from machine to machine - at a gym where you pay dues. So, time wise, I just consider this to be the same concept. We aren't supposed to rush a weight training/toning workout or we'll get injuries, so I enjoy the 30-45 seconds of rest of switching things around. It covers all the muscles I want and has a variety of ways to exercise them. Today's workout will be different from one later in the week based upon this variety. I have a membership with a large gym as well, though I have more options with my bow flex than the weight machines.
