Good for DIY but just remember to purchase LV wiring as well as Romex/bx because the thick wiring won't fit into the set screw spots

I had to replace this myself when I got a new front door. The alarm vendor wanted $200 for what took me literally less than 10 minutes to replace. I particularly like how easy it is to install the wire contacts. you'll need a tiny regular screwdriver, but slip in the wire and screw the setting and it's done! The plastic is a little flimsy so be careful when you install it not to snap off the outside part where the screws go through, but once installed it's as good any your alarm company would install.

This switch worked well for my alarm system as a Normally Open switch. When mounted in a door frame, the switch contacts are open when the door is open. When the door closes, and depresses the roller plunger, the contacts close, completing the circuit. The depth of the switch, when mounted, was less than the existing switch, which made mounting very easy. Contact screws also provided a secure connection. I would recommend this switch to others for similar applications.
