It creates maggots and is disgusting.

The corn seperater at the bottom on the barrel sometimes collects moisture in the corn. It creates maggots and is disgusting.
Pretty thin materiel for the price

2 Stars because it will not keep any feed dry as advertised. At first it was just the feeder legs that got wet, swelled and clogged up the feeder so nothing was coming out. They I could smell the sour feed before I even got to the feeder. Opened it up, molded feed on the inside of the supposedly weather proof top. I had to pour out 100 pounds of molded rotting feed.
First you either need really long arms or extra long tools to put this thing together. It is a two person job if you don't have really long arms and tools for sure. The design could be better with an internal bracket that actually seals the feeder legs. This would also make installing the legs easy rather than trying to hold each, both at arms length with a ratchet drive or wrench while reaching over with the other hand and trying to tread a washer and nut.
I sealed the feeder legs with flex seal because no matter how tight you got the bracket and nuts, you can still see light peering through which means moisture can get in. Why they didn't design this with some sort of weather seal is beyond me as that is typically the number 1 issue causing gravity feeders getting clogged. The last thing is the hollow legs... why not sealed legs so the dirt/mud does not get in them causing rust, or adding a pedal on the ends?
If you want this expensive feeder, don't buy it. Stick with a $80 broadcast feeder. If you do get this feeder, do not use anything except whole kernel feed corn or it will get wet from moisture build up in the plastic drum and rot/mold and clog the gravity feeder legs. What a waste of money!

No problems here.
Great feeders.

These things work great. We have 2 of them. We drilled additional holes in the outside corners of the tray for additional drainage, but the bad reviews on this product are coming from folks who don't own one. Lol. Go figure. We did have to let ours air out with the lids off for several weeks before the deer would use them.
