I love my guy. i named him goober. you have to be very careful with them because they are not made with the intention of being a toy, so i would not recommend getting any of these for children under 13, cats, or anyone you'd consider irresponsible with their possesions. but since i am not any of those things i love my guy very much and i recommend it heavily. wonderful product, absolutely beautiful.
Fun

Ten of the wind-up toys in this category were purchased to give to my many male relatives who are otherwise hard to buy for - three sons, a brother, and a bunch of teen-age grandsons. Oahaca is a humorous, or perhaps I should say downright silly, toy that works well as a conversation piece on a man's desk and as a goofy amusement for a teen. It is totally pointless, which is a great part of its charm. This toy, or one of its siblings, has been the hit of several birthday parties, never failing to put a smile on many a face with its bouncy, frenetic action. (The question often put to me is "Where do you find this great stuff?" Thank you, Amazon.com!)

I was looking for unusual-type toys which could come from only "Santa's workshop." I bought several of these little wind-up robots, and they were the biggest hit. Two years later, the kids still have/play with them, although the flints sparkers wore out after so much play in the first 6 months or so. Husban replaced them with new flints (like the type for a lighter) but fitting them into the holes was NOT easy and took a bit of determination. Would still buy more of these, and they make a great gift in the mail from that aunt or uncle who always finds the weirdest, cool toys. :)
update--these do NOT hold up to peanut butter. LOL son finally did break the spring, but I would still recommend this toy for a unique, NON-CANDY stocking stuffer or easter basket gift, or birthday party gift, or for an appreciation gift for a science-loving teacher's desk. :D

I keep buying these for myself, but end up giving them to my grandchildren who love them!

These are creative, well made and apparently too fascinating for my own greedy good. I've bought a batch of these. My grandchildren, who specialize in seeing how fast something can be destructed, keep playing with them and make it clear that grandpa should consider giving them away. I can't resist them, so I do give them away and keep having to buy replacements.
Every one of these I have or had, including those I've given to my demolitionist grandchildren still work. I kind of wish a few would break so they wouldn't be so fascinating to them. These are really decent, quality toys, especially considering the reasonable selling price.
I'll have to hide any new ones I buy, at least for a while, so I can get to play with them!
