I am using this in addition to a wind sock ...

I am using this in addition to a wind sock to keep birds from flying into a large west facing window. Most days there is a breeze from the south that keeps the tape fluttering and there have been NO bird collisions since I added the wind sock & this tape. It is well made and I hope to get several years of use out of the strips I now have fluttering outside the window.
Attached this to a hawk decoy and now my yard is clear.

I bought this after the "Bird B Gone Hawk Decoy" had ZERO effect. Once I taped a couple of strands of this to each of its wings however, together, they seem to do job. My entire yard is bird and squirrel free.
The first couple of days I even saw them flying through, coming down to land but aborting. After a couple of days, they stopped all together.

flutters in the breeze nicely and reflects light; bye bye pigeons

We have a first floor patio in an apartment building and pigeons are a problem. Tried an owl. Did nothing. Our neighbor hung up some scare tape and that seemed to work for them, so I figured why not? I made a mobile streamer thing by hanging about 15 strips of various lengths (up to 40" long) and attaching them to the inside of a small tin can (that I also covered in the scare tape). Then I hung the mobile from a bracket next to my plants. It flutters in the breeze and reflects the light. So far, I've noticed no pigeon droppings, so that is a very good sign. It's only been up for a week or two, but we've had some high winds and heavy rains, and so far, this has held up quite nicely. I think the randomness of this scare tape - the light reflects off of it and the reflections change depending on the breeze and the angle of the light - makes this much more effective than the owl, which just hangs there, and moves only minimally. I will update later in the spring and summer to report the longer-term effectiveness of this pigeon deterrent.
great product and delivery

hello,
scare tape...sure... birds are funny. some dont land where these tapes fly, but some do. is it the highly reflective shiny tape or the wind fluttering the tape? some birds land on skinny lines that run at all angles, so attaching them is not a problem with flag clips. so, what makes these so good in the war against the ever pooping birds? whatever it is, they work and work well. when the strong winds rip these tapes to shreds and make non fluttering smaller ones, there are a few droppings. but, put on new longer fluttering, shiny tapes and the droppings are gone within a day or two. somehow, these tapes work. but, remember, there are some small birds that can land on just any wire hung at any angle, so these tapes cant be placed in 100 % of the areas. just try for the biggest percentage of coverage and hope for the best. this tape and the shiny red scare tapes are the best on the market. easy to replace the wind torn ones. yrmv great product and delivery

I bought some of this because I had wild turkeys that wander in the yard, and one decided that he wanted to "fight" his reflection when he saw it on my car. I'd see him out in my driveway pecking at the car and chased him away, but needed something to take care of him when I wasn't there. So I cut this into strips and hung it from the windows so it dangled down the sides and back. I didn't have problems with the turkey after that, but the tape stuck to my car once it was in the sun for awhile. I was able to buff all the tacky residue off, but I won't stick it on there again. So while it seems to work fine, pay attention to what surfaces it will rest on and in what kind of weather.
