I replaced my nutone system with this. Was able to use the existing wiring, altho the power requirements were different so I couldn't use the existing transformer. I opted to use the batteries instead. Works well so far, and this vendor had the best price.

Nice quality intercom for a good price. You will need to have wires to connect the bell to intercom, takes a few minutes to install if you are an electrician otherwise probably a half hour for an average person to put together, not so difficult

I've used one of these in every house I've lived in for the past 32 years. There's a good reason why the design of this unit has remained unchanged over the years. It works! And, the price has remained essentially the same when adjusted for inflation. In my case, it's much easier for me to screen people who come calling by using the intercom. I have dogs and they're a handful while standing at the open door. For older people who are leary of strangers at the door, and/or are infirm and can't come to the door, this will make your life easier and bring peace of mind.
