Seem to be built very well.

After a lot of research on the products by Security Chain Company I settled on the SuperZ cable chains. I do not expect to need them often and will update this review if I ever get stuck and have to try them out. At this time, however, I am rating their ease of installation, instructions and apparent build.

The chain set comes in a reinforced nylon carry bag. Nice touch, much better than having them loose in the the back of the truck. The instructions are quite clear, in multiple languages, and easy to follow. There's also a couple of on-line videos by the manufacturer that clearly show how to install them. To sum it up, roll out the chain, toss it around the rear of the wheel, attach the inside, top fastener, attach the two fasteners on the outside and put on the tensioner. One of the reasons I chose this set was specifically because of the tensioner. There are some chain sets that don't require one, but they do require you to re-tension them in use. It seems a lot easier to have this done through the elastic properties of the heavy duty rubber tensioner supplied with the kit. I see that replacements are readily available if they ever wear to the point of needing replacement.

I did a practice run putting them on in the comfort of my snow-free garage. In this circumstance I was able to do the first one, the first time ever, in less than 5 minutes. They really have been designed to go on quickly and smoothly.

The build quality of the chain set seems very good. I inspected the joints and can find none that seem likely to fail. Overall they seem solid and (relatively) light weight at about 11 pounds for the set.

The manufacturer also includes a pair of "waterproof gloves" but they are nothing but a plastic overglove that might be good for one or two uses.
Sizing and clearance concerns, but looks like a solidly built chain.

I have a 2008 Toyota Sienna XLE (Front wheel drive) with 225/60-R17 tires. Unfortunately, Amazon seems to recommend size 139 for my vehicle. I am returning the size 139 because it doesn't fit. You should consult the SCC size chart. The SCC size chart says size 143. I first bought the size 143 from a craigslist seller and tried them on. They are very easy to install and the Super Z6 appears to be a solidly built chain. The tighteners are easy to put on as well. My concern came when I jacked my Sienna up and spun the wheel, checking clearances with everything. On the inside of the wheel, the circumferential cable just barely brushed the bracket and wiring for my front brake line and ABS sensor harness. It only did this on one part of the rotation, and other parts had several inches of clearance. If this cable wore through or tore out this brakeline/wire harness, that would be an expensive repair.

I slightly bent the brakeline/wire harness bracket to give just a smidge more clearance. I can't move it much. I then drove my car out on the driveway and backed it back into the garage and rechecked clearances. It seems to have balanced out just a bit more with about half an inch of clearance at the tightest part of the rotation. But still other parts of the rotation clear with several inches. I am guessing that driving will balance out the clearances.

This chain would be ideal if it gave a slightly longer inside circumferential cable with a slightly shorter outside cable. The clearances would easily not be a concern at that point. The width of size 143 seems appropriate, if only just a smidge too wide. My ideal chain would be slightly longer on inside and outside cables, with less width. But the SCC chart says nothing about actual chain dimensions.

I am going to run with the size 143 when I need to. Hopefully, that won't destroy my sensor wires.
Keep up with the weather forecast.

I bought this for my Subaru because California law requires that you carry these even though my car has AWD. Better safe than sorry but, if it really does get to the point where I have to put these on an AWD with dedicated winter tires, I wouldn't even be out at all.
Very tight fit for 2005-2009 Subaru Outbacks

My 06 Outback's owners manual says to never run chains. However, in California, you are by law required to carry chains in mountain/snowy areas. I don't want a ticket for failing to carry chains, so I'm left in an awkward position where California law requires I carry chains on a vehicle that tells me to not run chains.

I emailed Peerless chain company, and they told me they cannot recommend any set of chains for my specific car, because if the owner's manual says I cannot use chains, they do not want to transfer that liability to them. However, they mentioned that the Super Z6 chains require the least amount of side clearance of any of their chain models (6mm).

So I purchased the SZ139's (which are listed as a match for my car and the 225/55-17 tire). Turning clearance is fine, the biggest issue is how close the chains get to the strut and the brake line on the inside of the wheel. I didn't drive the car with the chains on at all - just installed them and lifted the car up to inspect them, so there's a chance the rubber tensioner would have helped pull the chains away from the brake line & strut. Who knows. I hope to never need them.
Easily the best money I've spent on winter vehicle safety ...

I bought 2 pairs for my front 2-wheel drive Buick Lacrosse 2005 CXL. Without them I practically slid out of my parking space and into a snow bank at Mt. Baker's Ski Area in Washington. With them, I lead the pack of AWD drive vehicles down the mountain. Easily the best money I've spent on winter vehicle safety ever. It seems like a cumbersome job but with some garage practice I was able to cable up in deep and heavy snowfall conditions in under 5 minutes. Only thing you want to be sure to get right is getting the 'top' (behind the wheel) eyelet and pin above the tire so you can see it. Once that's in it becomes a simple task to complete. With Amazon's vehicle fit utility, you should have a big green checkmark telling you this product works for your vehicle and tire size. If not, make sure!

In Washington state these meet requirements for "Tire Chains Required" passes (like Snoqualmie Pass on I90). Awesome product.
