PRETTY sure I got the correct size
dr susan yu✓ Verified PurchaseMarch 26, 2018
PRETTY sure I got the correct size . . . and YES, they are a bit 'challengin' to put on (in particular, getting the giant black rubber band part clipped on to each section, which pulls the tension required on the whole deal). And YES, you'll get dirty doing it. And you'll definitely need a 'grabber' (stick or rod with a hook) to reach around the tire when you first put it on the ground. But MAN, this worked like a charm once it was on. I should have read the description, it only contains a set of two. I was thinking it was going to be 4. My bad, I should learn to read! But, I was advised (and complied) to put them on the front tires (due to engine weight helping for better grip/traction). Used these on my 4wd Nissan Armada . . . made it up and down pretty steep dirt (covered with snow) driveway with easy. Don't think I'll need to get 2 more to make a set of 4. Overall, good product. Just make sure you practice putting them on before you need to do it for real. And then just realize that the tires will be wet/dirty when you're ACTUALLY putting them on for real. They comes with some disposable plastic gloves that go a ways up your arm (and can fit over your jacket), but they are good for about 1-2 uses, and mine got ripped up so I tossed them out.
Can't imagine plowing our icy hill without them

I've spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars on different chain sets and cleats. All have been useful, but only the Super Z8's have had the magic combination of: a) Good grip on snow, bare ice, and also mud, b) Can be installed without moving the truck, even if you're already stuck, c) do not require re-tensioning after driving a few hundred yards, d) compact storage bags, and e) relatively easy to put on.

With these on the truck, I'm fearless. Now I can plow over the side of a steep bank to push the snow out of the way for the next storm, and then just back right up. It's crazy. Though it's still possible to get stuck, though. For example, if you drive up onto a soft snow bank and then sink in up to the truck bed (tried that two weeks ago -- oops).

Caveats are that if you're already stuck, you have to completely dig out any tire that you want to install them on, which stands to reason, and "easy to put on" is a relative term. You have to get the right size for the tire, which SCC will help with if you call them or download their chart, and you'll have to snug them into place by hand before applying the tensioners, and then the tensioners themselves will take some swearing and muscle power. That said, I've never been unable to get the chains on, even on a set that was one size too small for the tires. It just required more snugging to get the chains as close to the hub as possible, and then more grip strength.

The chains are still inconvenient, even if it takes only ten minutes to put them on, but that said, I can't imagine useful chains being any easier to use. If you want to drive a 6,000 pound truck over the side of a frozen bank, you're going to need chains that stay on the tires, and that requires some reasonable tension.
Finally a set that fits as noted for my rig.

I just received these from Amazon, and for once, it just fits! Just prior to last winter I started shopping for chains for my modified Xterra. With a lift, I was not worried about body contact from the chains, I also have larger than factory tires (stock- 265/65-r16, to 285/75-R16) @ 3" larger diameter. The first chains I tried were superZ HD ZT835 from amazon. After dinking around under the truck I pulled the spare and tried, NO GO, not even close, like 2-3" from even connecting the outer band. Amazon return is always awesome, so I thought I would try local. Les Schawab had Laclede tire chains. Drove in and they came out and said... get real chains, try these (3228CAM) CAM lock ladder chains. Took them home, screwed around again for an hour and drove back. They came out and said, let us try. 4 techs were screwing around with the truck and said... they should fit. What I found was the duratrac's have an aggressive side wall as well as tire surface which prevented common sizes from fitting. They were busy and said we might be able to help you in 5 hours. I said I would try a differnt branch, drove to another branch that is never busy and they were able to help, found the 3227CAM chains fit. But these weight in a 48lbs for the pair.... Figured I would try SCC again for the fronts, as well as a keep in the truck all the time for everyday rears as needed. Did some searching and found that the SZ462 super Z8 chain should fit. 2 days later they are here and the fit! I just mounted on the front since there is more access due to my plate bumper but the rears can fit the monster chain links just fine, so these little cable chains will fit for sure. So now I have HD rears, cable fronts, or everyday cable rears that only weigh 6lbs compared to the 48lbs for the HD rears. I think the rig is ready for snow.... now for it to start falling, hopefully soon.

Photos attached to show the difference and fitment. Defiantly worth the buy if you need them.
Great product and customer support...just didn't fit my tires.

I bought these for my 275/65-20s. I have put on many tire chains in my day, but never cables. With my new GMC pickup I need to run the cables for the clearance issues. I attempted to put these on the way the instructions said and was unsuccessful. I then draped them over the top like a set of chains, then you can manipulate them a little better and I still could not get them done up...and just looking at the fit I could tell there was no way. After many swear words and frustration I opted to return these to Amazon. No problem...but I thought I should try and figure out the issue.

I called Peerless and the lady took the information and said they'd call me back. An hour later I got a call and I told him I had new tires and that they are Hankook Dynapro ATMs. This was the issue. He said that tire manufacturers can be off by up to 10% on the actual size as per the label on the tire. And this tire tends to run big. So...he said he'd send me a set of SZ486 cables and they'd fit...he was going to send them no charge. I told him I'd return these and get the suggested size. So...for the info, it may take a bigger set, but the staff was extremely helpful and there is no problems switching them out. Customer support is extremely important to me these days...yes the size didn't fit but we got to the bottom of it, so for this reason I give them all stars! Maybe this will help someone else in the future.
I was able to plow through about 18" of snow easy..

the plastic yellow clips deduct a point. Almost 2 since they don't give even one spare. You'll want a spare, or maybe mine was an exception? The ease of use and effectiveness is 5 stars though. I ended up tying a red shop rag to the tensioner in place of my lost or broken yellow clip and it worked for my week of trekking up and down the mountain. I was able to plow through about 18" of snow easy...they are not as good on icy road though, I often found myself skating on the solid ice. I couldn't"‹ have made it without them though so I'm glad I purchased.
