After a lot of research on the products by Security Chain Company I settled on the SuperZ cable chains. I do not expect to need them often and will update this review if I ever get stuck and have to try them out. At this time, however, I am rating their ease of installation, instructions and apparent build.

The chain set comes in a reinforced nylon carry bag. Nice touch, much better than having them loose in the the back of the truck.The instructions are quite clear, in multiple languages, and easy to follow. There's also a couple of on-line videos by the manufacturer that clearly show how to install them. To sum it up, roll out the chain, toss it around the rear of the wheel, attach the inside, top fastener, attach the two fasteners on the outside and put on the tensioner. One of the reasons I chose this set was specifically because of the tensioner. There are some chain sets that don't require one, but they do require you to re-tension them in use. It seems a lot easier to have this done through the elastic properties of the heavy duty rubber tensioner supplied with the kit. I see that replacements are readily available if they ever wear to the point of needing replacement.

I did a practice run putting them on in the comfort of my snow-free garage. In this circumstance I was able to do the first one, the first time ever, in less than 5 minutes. They really have been designed to go on quickly and smoothly.

The build quality of the chain set seems very good. I inspected the joints and can find none that seem likely to fail. Overall they seem solid and (relatively) light weight at about 11 pounds for the set.

The manufacturer also includes a pair of "waterproof gloves" but they are nothing but a plastic overglove that might be good for one or two uses.

Very satisfied with the product:
1. Easy to put and remove
2. They do provide plenty of traction
We used them on a RWD in snow, 225/50 R17.
Tip : Use them only if you actually do need the additional traction (there is a decent amount of snow and/or the wheels slip). If you put the chain and there is not enough snow the car will be shaking a lot.

I couldn't try the chains before I needed to use them. After watching a YouTube instruction film on the spot, the first chain took less than 10 minutes. The second one took around 5 minutes. Very fast!

Removing them is a little bit harder to do because you need to drive the car over the chains to pick them up.

I would recommend having a spare pair of gloves and a jacket to carry with the chains. You need to grab the chains under the car and the sleeves of the jacket can get dirty.

I have not usd the chains yet but I stalled them to see how easy they go together and it was an easy set up, they appear to be solid, and if and when I use them I will update the review as to there quality and snow traction

Easy to put on!! 2013 Acadia Denali has very low clearance between shock mount and tire. These fit nice on P255/55R20. I had trouble getting up a steep driveway with some ice, I'm sure chains perform better. But these are great to drive on and get through inspection point.
