Don't waste your money on look a likes

I have bought these for many years. I bought two identical looking tubs at TSC - and I made the mistake of assuming they were fortex. My horses completely destroyed them in less than a week (think pile of rubber strips). Amazon has the lowest on line price for these. The cost of these amortized over the usable life vs those at TSC....makes them DIRT cheap. If these weaken more quickly than the identical fortex tubs I have previously purchased, I will update this post. I say that b/c they do seem "lighter" than the old ones. We shall see.

I didn't buy this for a horse, I needed it for a fountain base and it was perfect. I'm doing a DYI garden fountain and didn't want to buy the $750 pre made fountain base, so I just bought parts that would work for much less! This fit the bill! Very thick walled about the size of a big aluminum tub that you might use at a party to put your cold drinks with ice in, just the size I needed, the aluminum tubs would leak so I needed something in plastic but this is rubber so it will work too.

This is a flexible rubber 15gal tub that appears to work well during winter for providing water for 1-5 ducks. Anything larger (e.g. cheap kiddie pool) becomes cumbersome and fragile with freezing temps. It's easy to dislodge and remove ice from this- and then refill using a hose or 3 5-gal buckets of water. I don't trust the reliability/ safety of water heaters, so this is a good alternative.

I needed some new feed tubs for the horses and I had some other fortex 15 gallon tubs that I had been using for about 15 years. So I acquired 3 more of the fortex tubs. I have tried tubs from other manufacturers and those brands have not lasted more than a couple of years. The fortex tubs also tend to have much less odor when they arrive than the other brands.
