This product appears to be everything I expected, and more. It's well made, and should prove a welcome addition to our kitchen tools. Not only will it speed up the task of slicing boiled eggs, but the individual slices will be perfectly consistent as well. I like the bail-style handle which is easier and more comfortable for my wife and I to use. I recommend this product and the seller to others.

Had to replace my Kitchenaid egg slicer after my boyfriend said, "you can cut mushrooms with that" and I broke two wires trying to do just that. This one is built better, fits in the drawer better, washes easier, and I'm happy with it. The wires still aren't thin enough to cut mushrooms easily, so I'm not sure about 'multipurpose', but it's still great.

I specifically went looking for a well-made, more sturdy version, as the last one I had broke after about a year of usage. Took this product out of the box, inserted a mushroom, and *sproing* a wire broke off before I was able to chop anything. Very disappointed.

I bought this becasue it said it will slice through mushrooms as well as eggs. When I tried to slice mushrooms the wires look like they were going to pop so I bought another one that can do that (Kitchen Aid). It worked for about a month and one wire eventually broke too.
