Barry Manilow is absolute "gold"! A marvelous tribute to this incredible talent. So thrilled to obtain a copy - that stated "used" ---- but it is JUST LIKE NEW! Thank you!

There were 2 videos in the DVD jacket. The first one explained Barry's rise to fame and he explained why the videos were so poorly done, after all, it was early 70s and he was just starting on his rise to being known. It is a worth your time to listen to his explanation but I could not sit still long for the poor videos so I just raced through the black and white videos and put them back in the box. Now, the second video is wonderful! It is a keeper. The electronic progress that has been made since Manilow began is historically worth keeping. His explanation and plan to produce his own show is truly worth keeping for its historical value. But...the video of his final show is truly valuable as he changed his point of creative direction as he moved through time and found his place in musical history.

A very good all around video about Barry and his last concert. I throughly enjoyed every minute of it.

If you loath Barry Manilow, then this isn't for you; what a surprise. For his fans, such as myself, the concert is fine. It lacks the vibrancy of his early concerts, where he was a relative unknown and he introduced us to not only his radio fare but also his previous commercials/Madison Avenue work. Now, as a seasoned performer, he had the Las Vegas look that eventually ruined Liberace and Elton John. There is an imperceptible point where performer transitions from muscian to actor, from composer and trailblazer to mere stage prop. Barry is not quite there yet, but the album does indicate a farewell concert after all.

I believe his magnum opus was Could it be Magic, based of course on the classical music work underlying it. I wanted to see both versions of it, both the original slow piece and the up tempo "disco" or dance version. On the concert disk, we see a brief performance of a fraction of the original with a pretty good and complete renditon of the disco or dance version. Good enough for me...

Great DVD for Barry Manilow fans. It is fun to look back at how Barry first started and then go forward to his final concert. He is truly a talent and even better to watch as the years have gone by.
