It sucks that it doesn't suck!

I returned the item as it would no pump any vacuum. Very disappointed with the price and quality of "the world's first..." Wait instead for the world's second or third version.
Vacuum/Pump Seal is awful

I know use this as only a decanter because honestly the pump/vacuum thing is terrible. I don't recommend it for that all. Great idea, terrible implementation and ease of use.
Great decanter!

Love this decanter! By taking the air out, wine lasts a little longer.
Have two. Like them. Higher quality, non-staining glass would be a welcome improvement

I have 2 of these. Our first is in storage with our furnature while we build a new house and live in temporary housing.
I've used this decanter for several years. Fifteen (15) to 20 pumps may get you in the red zone, but if you're like me and want to go to the top of the red zone be prepared to pump at least 30 times. Take care to hold the decanter firmly so it does not slip on the counter; those last 10-15 pumps can be challenging and divert your attention from holding the decanter secureIy. The only thing I would like to see in this decanter is higher quality glass. I do not use soap to clean any decanter. I rinse multiple times with hot tap water. Other more expensive decanters I have rinse to crystal clear. My Metrokane V1 Vacuum Decanters took on a purplish hue after as few as 6 uses (with red wines, and wines kept in them for up to 1 day). I would be willing to pay more for a vacuum decanter with higher quality glass that rinses to its original clear state without using soap. p.s. I also take my wine to BYOBs in this decanter. The vacuum keeps the stopper on during transit, and even high-end BYOBs cannot guarantee that they will have a free decanter for you when you arrive. I bring the decanter in a plastic/vinyl shopping bag. We go to our favorite BYOBs repeatedly, so the owners/maitre d/ waiters know us and don't worry about an IED when we walk in.

A high quality product that will preserve your vino

A thoughtful, design, the decanter obviates the need for aerators. I put it to the test and stored less than a third of a bottle for two and half days. Not only did it hold pressure, the wine remained fairly stable, loosing minimal quality.
