120 VAC battery warmer works great
S. Hunter•January 21, 2017
Gets nice and hot, gives off some fumes at first, but the odor goes away after a day or so (being used as a battery warmer on a standby generator)
Perfect.

These are perfect. I now have two of these (bought one a year ago). I keep them lying on the ground (stone) underneath my home generator and plug them in for the winter. With the insulated cover I have over the generator the temperature inside was 48 degrees when the overnight outside temp was 18.
Great Choice For Your Home Generator / Cheaper Than Generac
Gary L.•December 27, 2015
Purchased this plus the TC-2 Thermo Cube for my Generac Generator. When the temperature hits 20 degrees the battery pad will turn on assuring an easy start if the power goes out. Generac sells a cold weather kit for $280 which includes the battery pad and oil filter warmer. Reviews state many issues this. Installation is problematic and the wiring is too short, plus it's expensive. This combination works just as well for a lot less money.
Great Battery Warmer -- Needs a Coupling at the Pad
Discerning Intellectual•April 27, 2015
I purchased this device to keep the battery for my John Deere lawn tractor warm during Anchorage's winter weather. The battery sits on a simple metal strap, and so I had to add a metal platform so the pad would sit flat under the battery. Once I installed the warmer, it worked like a charm. I added a Farm Innovators TC-2 Cold Weather Thermo Cube to the extension cord so the pad turns on at 20 degrees F, and turns off at 30 degrees F. Now my battery is toasty warm when I start the tractor to blow snow off our driveway.
I would give the battery pad warmer five stars if it had a coupling at the pad so I could detach the cord during the summer months. As it is, I have to remove the battery to take the pad and the metal platform out, and then reinstall them next fall. So, I gave the product four stars.

Good solution for cold weather starting

Used it for my trector but works fine for auto batteries as well. It puts out 65 watts. Only use in under 32F temperatures.
