Some gadgets are not that great.

I can't get the tension on the wheels right. Plus the glass locks up in the wheels. I'll just do it the old fashion way By hand. Takes longer but with a better appearance.

very disappointed in the quality. first, the wing nut that is used to tighten the nylon locking nut is missing. second, the axle screws that hold the reels are not the same size. one side is much longer than the other. the shorter side is barely long enough to hold the nut. when the wheel turns, the nut comes off.

This thing will save you a TON of time. I have no clue how I foiled without it. The directions are easy and the foil comes out perfectly centered every time.

For me, the absolute best thing about this foiler is the centering of the copper foil! Try and try as i may, centering is a challenge for me - and so important for a quality and visually appealing piece of stained glass!
Doesn't got foil on glass as tight as is really needed, but I'll trade the hand burnishing for cwnteri g any day of the week!
BTW, folks whove said it takes time, practice and tension adjustments are right - be patient and you'll be able to get there.
