Very disappointing purchase - Not all as shown, quality not there either.
Michael L. BrunerOctober 30, 2016
I would not recommend this item. The case is not as shown. What is shown is a very solid case that holds 1,000 chips. What is actually sent is a flimsy case that likely would fall apart if used. More important, it only holds 600 chips. Also, the chips themselves have a very strong chemical odor to them. I'd hoped that this was just a residue from the chip making process. I spent hours trying to clean up the chips to see if the odor will go away. It didn't. So it's clearly from the resin used to make the chips. Spending so much time on the chips also allowed me to see just how poorly they were made. They are not what you would expect at this price. Finally, I suspect that what I got were not 13 gram chips, but then next weight down, but I don't have a scale that I could use to verify this. Overall, I am very disappointed in the purchase.
Good product, watch for broken parts.

I have been playing with a very similar set for almost a year now and it is great for home games as large as 6-8. This set's chips are slightly heavier and are solid construction. The only odd drawback is there is a "powder" on almost all the chips. At first It thought it dust, but it looks to be from the manufacturing process. I'm going to have to rinse and dry all the chips before use.

The acrylic case and chip holders are awesome I have gotten more than one comment of "where did you get those" from players. The case looks fragile, but it is not.

The only knock I will give is that the packaging of the items is horrendous. My first order came with over 50% damage - Acrylic case cracked, 4 of 10 chip holders broken, missing a chip or two. Amazon wrote it off and sent me a new one. This second set was broken as well - but between the two sets I was able to piece one whole set together. They are putting loose acrylic chip holders in a box with a thinly protected acrylic chip case and 2-3lbs of chips in a too large box and not enough bubble wrap. At first I thought this was Amazon, but I believe it may be manufacturer packaging.

Still the quality of the set made the hassle worth it.
If you're looking for good ceramic chips
AdamOctober 5, 2015
If you're looking for good ceramic chips, but these. They aren't the cheapo "cast plastic around a metal disk" chips that are so prevalent. They do not feel exactly like casino clay, but seem to have a little more polymer in the mix. They "clink" like casino clay, but are a bit slicker. I assume that this means that they tolerate wear and water better, but only time will tell.
A very nice looking, quality set

This is a really nice case and set of chips. I bought it as a gift for someone and they were very excited about getting it. I think I read some reviews saying these weren't clay chips. I wouldn't know what they're made of but it sure isn't cheap plastic. It takes a while to unwrap and stack all the chips, and when you're done, this thing is heavy! It must weigh about 30 pounds.
Great Gift Idea for Poker Lovers
JeneferMJanuary 15, 2015
Great gift for a poker lover! In this case, I got them for my husband at Christmas. All his friends were impressed on the quality of the chips, the presence of the little trays, and the sheer volume. To the volume, its valid; they use all of them in their poker nights of ~10 guys.
Only missing star is for the case which doesn't lock in any way so occasionally you have put back together all these chips.

Warning (not complaint, just the nature of the item)
1) this is really heavy, maybe 60 pounds? Not the easiest to lug, but again, every chip is needed and each chips weight is correct.
2) Comes with a lot of work to prepare, ~5 chips wrapped in plastic. I asked my husband and he said this was needed to keep the chips safe since they are high quality. So again not a complaint just a warning of what to expect.

I highly recommend this to your poker spouse / child as a great gift.
