I don't honestly see how one parent can put a child into this harness. Once the wiggling toddler is finally "strapped into" the harness, lifting the child and the harness and then trying to clip the whole affair onto the drop chain while supporting the weight of the child(still squirming) is a two-person affair. The clip that you're supposed to hold open while you attach the rig to the chain is an ergonomic nightmare; it wants to keep flipping out of your now worn-out fingers.Long ago we had a Jolly Jumper that hung from a door frame that came with a bucket-like cloth seat that worked very well. The new design of seat/harness is not parent-friendly. We had high hopes based on how much our kids loved the original. Our granddaughter resents the harness and by the time we get her latched into place, she's ready to get out and away from the frustration.

This jumper is great. I'm on baby number 4 and have owned two other jumpers in the past. This one is quiet! The others are loud when the baby jumps because of rattles and other toys on them. This is so much better and can be used earlier since the harness holds them in and they can't rock around unassisted like the other jumpers. It's secure. It looks outdated, especially since the price is about the same as others on the market. That's the least of my concerns though. The footprint is a little larger, but well worth the extra space it takes up! The only real negative I've found is that if you have a dog or other small children, the baby isn't as protected since it's completely open around them. The other free standing jumpers have a barrier around them helping to keep them safer. Even though that can and may be a small issue for us, I'm keeping it! It checks off all the other boxes for me! We are getting away from plastic toys with lights and sounds. This is good old fashioned fun for baby. Love it! Exactly what I was looking for!

After seeing another mom's FB video, I thought it looked like the baby was secure in it. Unlike some of the ones that have the outer saucer on it, it didn't look like the baby was bobbing left-right with each "dip". Rather, this fits like a snug overalls set, and supports my boy's chest and back.

My son was 5 months when we started using it, and he's on chain link #4 from the top (this is how you adjust the height as your baby grows, you simply hook it onto the stand from shorter and shorter chain lengths). However, he is tall for his age (75th percentile). We got this one instead of a doorway version because we don't have a lot of standard doorways with trim. I'm so glad we got this one, because I can put it anywhere and keep an eye on him without having to go down the hallway to look in a doorway. It goes on any flat surface!
He jumps, jumps, jumps! The instructions suggest limiting play to 15 min, and we usually leave him in it for 20 min, no more than 30 min.

The setup is as simple as it gets: there is a spring in the middle of a stand (the stand is like a swing set stand) that has a chain dangling from the big spring. You simply attach your hooked-up baby's harness to the chain, at a point you feel the baby's foot touches the ground, but not all the way flat-footed (easy to understand diagram in instructions).

The baby harness is snug, which we like (we have a long, lean baby and want to protect his spine). To put the baby in it, we lie the harness down on the couch and put him in it (like putting on a super-tall diaper that goes up to the chest). It has large, chest-wide Velcro to get the right fit around the chest, and an adjustable fabric harness snap that goes over that for added security. Finally, a flap of fabric lays over those pieces and snaps into place for both aesthetics and to keep little one from fidgeting or possibly opening the harness.

This is a well-made, well-designed baby jumper. I am happy with the purchase, would buy again!

(Updated:: I updated this review with a better video since the first one I posted was so grainy. My son is now 9 1/2 months) This was worth every penny! My 7 month old son absolutely LOVES this jumper. I had to get a jumper that was free standing because in my home we have extra high door frames and the hallways and walkways in our main living room area are frameless. The stand itself is kind of big but its fine. We just store it to the side when we are not using it. I like that you can place this anywhere you want in the house vs having to use it only in a door way like other jumpers. I have found it easier for me to sit on my knees while placing my baby in the jumper and then have him standing on my thighs as I strap him in. Also found that it is better to have it placed on a rug or carpeted area vs wooden floor. He is able to get better traction for a better jumping experience. He likes bouncing around while watching his favorite cartoon show. He can go 20 minutes just happy as can be bouncing about while I get dishes and chores done in the same room. My baby is a big boy so by his next growth spurt he will probably be at the highest setting for this jumper. But every baby is different and a lot are much smaller then my boy. I will answer any questions you have.

When we found out we were having a kid, the first thing my boyfriend said is "We have to get her a jumper."
Upon surveying our apartment door frames, we realized that door jumpers were out. We thought about getting a bouncing activity center, but we only have a 700 square foot apartment and much real estate is already taken up by a swing. And then I discovered the Jolly Jumper on a stand.
This stand has roughly a 3x4 footprint, and collapses to easily store in a closet, which is fantastic for an apartment. It's easy to assemble. Just lift the side bars and screw the wing nut tight.
The harness is a little different. We use cloth diapers and it always takes a little arranging to get it centered right on her bottom. Also recommended to put something soft over the top bar when putting the baby in the harness. It is a little difficult to do with just one person, but after you've put them in it alone a few times you get the hang of it.
We marked the chain link we go to with a small zip tie so we can easily get to that link without a bunch of trial and error to get to the right height. As she gets heavier, we just cut the zip tie and attach one to the next link that works.
We tried the jumper at 3 months, and while our daughter didn't quite jump, she did figure out how to turn herself in circles! Now, at 5 months, she jumps non stop.
I should point out this is not just fun for the baby, it's fun for us, too. The expressions made while jumping are priceless, and grandparents LOVE a quick 30 second video of her going nuts in the jumper and giggling.
