when I first got this I pulled the brush out to quickly and the gunk out of the disposal got on me and the countertops and let me tell you that was bloody disgusting haha.

I pour some bleach crystals down the sink and gently stuff this in the sink and begin to scrape away the gunk. I carefully remove the brush slowly so that bleach doesn't fly out with the bristles and turn on the water and run the disposal for a minute. It seems to clear the stench, do it at least once a week for a stinky sink. Be very careful though, when I first got this I pulled the brush out to quickly and the gunk out of the disposal got on me and the countertops and let me tell you that was bloody disgusting haha.

Wow! I love finding items that I never knew that I needed but end up loving them anyway. I have always been concerned about keeping my disposer as clean as possible to avoid odors. I just recently read something that described how nasty the rubber covering over the sink hole gets. When I saw this brush I was excited to be able to scrub out all of the gunk that might cause my disposal to be dirty and smelly. I guess that I had been doing a pretty good job since it came out mostly clean the first time I used it. I am still very happy to have it because it is much easier than what I had previously been doing. The shape makes it very easy to insert, rotate around a few times and pull out. Based on other reviews, I did pull it out carefully. I did not want any gunk to pop out and hit me.

OMG - Despite using dishwasher foaming cleaning supplies, I had NO IDEA that my garbage disposer still was quite as disgusting as it was! This brush helped solve that problem. Just be careful as you pull it from the unit. As it does a good job cleaning the underside of the rubber gasket, it fits snug and can bring all that debris up to splatter the sink area (and you) if you're not careful. Like flicking the bristles of a toothbrush... Great product though...

I always thought I was cleaning my garbage disposal just fine until I got the Mr. Scrappy. It absolutely cleans the crud I didn't know I was missing. Also helps to eliminate the built up grime that produces nasty odors. I use together with a garbage disposal cleaner and am very happy.

Mr. Scrappy is amazing! It cleans the stuck on gunk inside the disposal SO good! Move it around vigorously with hot water running into it. Just make sure you cover it & the disposal hole BEFORE you pull it out because all the loose gunk comes out with it. Once it's clean (no longer slings gunk out when pulled out) pour some Pine Sol on it, (I prefer the Lavender) swish it around in the disposal, pull it out & your garbage disposal smell clean & fresh! I highly recommend this product
