Cuts smoothly and has a strong 1/2 shank. My first Whiteside router bit is a good one. I used it only on pine and it performed beautifully.

I bought this bit to replace similar size Bosch router bit that lost a piece of carbide after 15 min of rather heavy use. This one cuts much better out of the box and visually seems to be of higher quality, Time will tell.
