Drill one more mounting hole!

This a great built trap for backyard target shooting. It is well made with thick metal. The metal dings quite a bit with pellets at 25 yard but that's what pellet trap is supposed to do! Couple of things you want to keep in mind with this pellet trap.

1. It is small! only 5.5" x 5.5". I knew it when I bought it so not a big deal in my book.
2. It only has one mounting hole. Make sure you drill one more mounting hole with Dremel in order to get a solidly mounted trap. Look at the pictures I posted.

By the way, 5.5" targets means you can make your own targets on a letter size cardboard stock using a copier. You will be able to get two targets per sheet. I just use two targets in the copier next to each other and copy away more as I need them!!
good trap

I like the Gamo Cone Pellet Trap!
I use it at about 30 feet with a crossman air pistol.
It works well for me at that distance and I am very happy with it.

Input after a year of use: There is a pellet deflector inside this unit, behind the target in the square tube, that is set at 45 degrees to deflect the pellets downward into the "trap". The force of the .22 cal pellets, fired from 30 feet, has hammered this piece of metal back against the back of the square tube so that it no longer has the manufactured angle of 45degrees. The damage showed after about 200 rounds I have now put 500 rounds into it. I am still using the trap but 30 feet may be too close for use with the Crossman .22 cal pistol.
Great for it's intended purpose.

This target is meant for low power CO2, pump pistols, Crosman 1701P, etc. that make just a couple foot pounds of energy. Yes, I'm sure a .22LR or even a 1000fps pellet gun would shoot straight thru it. I use a 1701P and it hasn't damaged it a bit. Makes a great addition to my shooting wall. The included targets make clear holes with regular Crosman hollow points, like as if you're using a hole punch. I like shoot-n-c for outside, but man, this paper is great for score keeping. Most of the pellets drop into the catch, some land behind the target, on the bottom plate. Wish they all went in the catch area, but at least none escape. With the 100 included targets, it's a great deal for $15 not to have to pick pellets off the floor and have the wife find out I'm shooting pellets in the house, LOL.
Glad I have a scope!

This thing is pretty small. Glad I have a scope to find it at 60ft! Put some weight in the bottom. A strong hit will move it causing you to have to walk to and from and reposition the target after a pellet or two. Great for exercise...
$5 worth of targets and $7 worth of trap equals great value for mid-power pellet shooters.

I have only shot about 100 .177 and 100 .22 pellets into the trap, but so far it appears to be holding it's own. No high powered rifles here, just a couple 500 fps pellet pistols (ssp250 and 2240). This is exactly the same as the "bone collector" trap that sells for a couple bucks more here. Same targets and same 4 sided cone with back stop and mount. Takes about 5 minutes to put together. Targets (100 count) are nice and really add to the value. The only con so far is that shooting at the bullseye and hitting it consistently results in the backstop flap getting hammered in the same place over and over. That part is now bent, but not beyond usability. So if you are "hit and miss" with targets you'll never wear out the back plate. If you are consistently hitting the center ring, you may have to reinforce the metal flap eventually. Overall very good value for the price.
