Acrylic Solvent Cement
KenJanuary 18, 2017
Must have adhesive when welding acrylic. I used this to make a sheer decent water wall spout and it is so easy to use.
Super effective, use with care
Mike DAugust 12, 2016
This acrylic solvent cement is extremely effective and very quickly adheres two peaces of acrylic. I used this to build an acrylic / plexiglass speaker box (see pictures). I used 1/4" acrylic. The bonds are very strong and I am not worried about them breaking.

Unfortunately I spilled a small amount of the solvent on an acrylic sheet. It quickly ate away at the surface. Since it is a solvent it will cause some permanent damage, so be careful to not spill or drop any on areas where you do not want the seal. The stuff is also very fumey so use in a well ventilated area.
Works great on the brittle

Works great on the brittle, plexiglass like plastics i got it for. Because it is a clear liquid about the fluidity of alcohol, it will run, and leave a cloudy mark that doesnt come off. Likely it might polish off with fine abrasives. I use needle applicators. I have had similar before and it will evaporate if the screw-on lid is left even slightly loose. I use a pair of pliers to tighten the can very carefully, as i will expect this amount to last me years.
If you want the water thickness to bond acrylic and use a needle applicator, the #4 is what you need.

I couldn't figure out which cement I needed so I bought both the #16 and the #4. This cement is water thin and you can use it with a needle applicator. Parts need to have an absolutely perfect mating in order for this to work properly. If your parts have marginal mating, then you may need to get the #16 which is a thicker viscosity. The #16 can fill in slight gaps in your acrylic.

If you want the water thickness to bond acrylic and use a needle applicator, #4 is what you need.
