Simpler than it looks.

Device came with no directions but the diagram on the front. However after a simple google search for RIB wiring, I found a YouTube video explaining that you don't use all the wires.
The extra wires are for different options. Once you realize that it is actually very easy to use.
We connected this one to the furnace in order to power inline boosters. Works like a charm!!!!
I have a few new projects I will be buying this for.
response time is long.

response time is slow side. but it can control higher power ( accept more A)
An amazingly easy to install, "Relay in a Box"

For anyone who can wire a light switch, this is an outstanding device. It is well made and easy for a home electrician to install. In my case, I put it on a double outlet box with a feed from main (grid) power and from a battery powered inverter. If the main power fails, the relay switches the power to the outlet. I use this to keep a deep freeze operating should the main (grid) power fail while I am away.

Extremely well made. Super easy to install (if you can install a light switch).
Make 120 volt high amp draw (up to 20 amps) devices smart!

The media could not be loaded. I love these relays. They allow me to make 120 volt high amp draw devices smart, by being able to utilize my Lutron Caseta smart system. The Lutron switches are only rated for low amperage (around 5 amps), and can't be used to control high amp devices directly. The relay allows the smart switch to be used as a trigger, which allows power delivery directly through the relay, which protects the Lutron switch from overload.
I like that it can fail open or shut and like that it has a friendly diagram for the novice

So I am not an electrician, just a DIY guy - so take this with a grain of salt. But I liked this relay because you could attach it directly to the punch out box of a electric junction box. I used this relay in conjunction with a little giant water pump.

Little Giant 554542 VCMX-20ULS-C - also purchased on amazon

So my dehumidifier in the basement was always filling up and I had to dump manually. Instead I have the pump as the condensate catcher and it automatically kicks in every now and again based on a float switch to pump out the water to my sewer line. I found a nice tube already going in and just added a T. Not bad.

But the water pump also has a float shutoff switch if it overflows. But that switch is low voltage. So I have a 24V transformer supplying the power, and this transformer can either fail the circuit open or fail the circuit closed. There is a nice diagram right on the front. I chose to fail open, but that was just my preference.

So again, the transformer supplies the power, as long as the emergency float switch is not thrown, power flows to the 24v side of the relay, and 115v power is supplied to the new outlet to power the dehumidifier. BUT - if the pump starts overflowing, the 24v loop is cut, the transformer shuts off power to the 115v side, and the dehumidifier loses electricity and turns off.

Pretty slick
