A must have for any Wii owner!

I have one of these for my XBox 360 and decided to get this for the Wii as the Wii remotes always go through a ton of batteries. This has been perfect. The charger does a great job charging the remotes and has a great look on my gaming console.

I like the rubberized battery door - it gives you a bit of grip that you don't normally have with the Wii remote. It's great.
I haven't had any issues with batteries dying when playing since I got these as we always just throw them back in the cradle when we are done with a game and they are always ready for the next round when we go to play.

This charger plugs into the wall, not the Wii USB port, which is nice so I can have it on the other side of the entertainment system and not tethered to where the Wii is.

This makes a great addition to anyone who has a Wii!
Last one lasted 8 years, this one seems just as good

This is our second order of this station. The first one lasted about 8 years. Our Wii usage has ebbed and flowed as our son has grown up, but I'd say the first system got a good workout, and the remotes were on the station constantly. I know they say to improve the battery life you should charge to full and remove from the station, but we are too lazy, and with a kid, it is easier to tell him to always leave the remotes there and not have them left all over the place.

The station never actually failed, but the batteries started acting weird. They'd show a full charge, and then show no charge and then randomly show everything in between. The charge state seemed to change every couple of seconds. But, they still would last a couple of hours of playing. We finally replaced it when it started reporting such a low state that the game would pause and tell you they needed to be charged soon. Getting the interruptions went from every 10 minutes or so to every minute or so. Looking for just the battery packs, this station/battery combination was just as cheap, and seemed a better idea in case the contact points had changed slightly.

The new station worked fine throughout the holiday season with many visitors coming through and playing the new games. No problems with the batteries making contact with the station, no surprises picking up a remote off the station and having it not be charged, never had one run out during gameplay. I don't know how long the batteries last, but it was used pretty heavily the last few weeks and never was close to fully discharging the batteries.
Goal was to cut down on the need to buy replacement batteries

We go through so many batteries for Wii controllers. I was hoping this would help cut down on the number of batteries we used and it did for a time. But after a while my kids got lazy and quit charging the controllers and went back to using regular batteries. Then they misplaced this battery. Great concept if you can get your kids to actually use it since batteries are so expensive and Wii controllers are constantly needing new batteries.
Would not buy again

Wii users don't have many options anymore with Nyko, sadly. Loooovvveed the prior Nyko charge station with USB and extra outlet on the power cord, as well as that you could leave the silicone sleeve on while recharging. Now, all that has gone away with this charger. You have to remove the silicone sleeve and reposition the wrist strap AND remove the Wii motion controller at the bottom of the wand just to get it to sit in the charge station. **I never would've bought it but for the fact that Nyko no longer makes the battery pack for the old charge station.** We'll probably keep this purchase but will stick in it in the storage cabinet as a back up. I plan to buy and use the Energizer charging pad, which is the best way to go now. It's always disappointing to see a manufacturer take a step back on their product line.
Nyko Charging Dock functions properly.

I purchased this to rid the need of buying batteries. After reading many different reviews for this charging dock and others, I settled on this one. To make it clear to anyone who is looking to buy one, use it as follows: Plug the charging dock into the wall; Remove the rubber cover and wrist strap from the Wii remote, Wii remote rubber cover and wrist strap will keep the remote from sitting properly in the dock; install the new rechargeable battery it comes with and battery cover in the remote; place in charging dock; blue light indicates charging, green light indicates fully charged. I initially placed one remote on the charging dock and it only took 1 hour to charge and 1 hour for the second remote as well. . So far it is working as it's supposed too. If it prematurely ceases to function properly, this review will be updated. Muchos Gracias.
