What I like most, and have come to rely on, is the quality and integrity of this product. I've used this brand for MANY years.
That said, this came in a 12 can case. Of this twelve cans, only FIVE were in good shape. The rest are all dented. As you probably
Know, dented cans are a safety issue sthat can affect the contents. I've included a photo (the five in the background are the good ones).
I tried to "pose" the dented sides for viewing but it's hard to tell...some of the wrapping is pulled away from the cans, and the dents seem to not show up in the lighting here. In any case, this may be a one time accident by the one who shipped to Amazon , who knows? Bottom line, unless I hear back from the vendor know that there was no attempt to right the wrong and purchase at your own risk. If I DO hear back, I'll revise this review (and stars to reflect it as well).

Disappointed - every can but 1 dented, badly. Had to throw 2 cans out -1, because the can felt soft and I didn't want to chance it and the other was so dented on the top lid, I couldn't open enough with a can opener, it was so out of round. Odd they were all dented but packaged so well in a 12 pack plastic wrapped cardboard box.... looks like they went in the package already dented up because the damage was all over the place, some on top, most on the sides. Again, like I was sold a box of defective cans, not like it was damaged in transit. Just found a review for tomatoe sauce, stated same thing, they are selling us DENTED cans!!!
Good grief, that's not right when it stated that's what you are buying. Buyer beware!!!!!

The tomatoes are great - I get the 12 pack case of the whole peeled tomatoes and I crush them while they cook so the shapes end up more "organic" than if they were diced - but unfortunately the cans come in large part dented.

I have received 4 orders of these and there are always some dented cans. In the last 2 orders, very recent, all the cans were dented. As I read up more on botulism and its ability to grow in dented cans, I can't use them anymore.

Am starting to stock my little log cabin for the winter, and a case of these tomatoes had an excellent price. In addition, I really enjoy tomatoes that are fire roasted! So, a win-win situation all the way around.

The other thing that I really appreciated is that the case was delivered to my front door. It doesn't get any better than that for me.

Taste tested one -half of a can last night and they are really good. Will see how the winter progresses and will definitely re-order if I get snowed in or start to run low on my supply!

Edited on 10 October to add that the amount of liquid in these tomatoes is minimal. So, the weight is for the tomatoes and not the added liquid. Most manufacturers add more liquid and have less tomatoes. Just another reason I do like this brand.

Except for the fact that this Muir Glen tomato sauce is organic and the various other brands of, no salt added, tomato sauces that I have been using are not, I can not discern much difference in taste or texture between them.

Tomato sauce without salt tastes a bit bland, even when the best tomatoes are being used. I find that if I add a tablespoon of a salt free garlic herb blend to this can of sauce, it improves both the texture and taste. It really does make it a tasty enough sauce to use on pasta. I use the plain tomato sauce, right from the can, for various recipes, including a few made in a slow cooker.

If using an organic sauce is important to you, this Muir, no salt added, sauce is a good choice even if the taste difference seems subtle.
