Truthfully, these are a bit odd. I was hoping they were similar to crushed tomatoes which are unavailable except for the basil type which I do not want. In the case of these "ground" tomatoes, I have no idea how one can grind a tomato and have it come out like this item, which is exactly like diced tomatoes in a thin broth which is hardly even "sauce" because it's not thick enough. It's very strange! That said, they are organic which is a plus and are tasty and fine for cooking with, as long as you can incorporate diced tomatoes in broth into your recipe. I usually put a can of crushed tomatoes and a pound of hamburger in the crock pot to make meat sauce. Maybe because of the large chunks, the can didn't fill up the crock like it normally would, so I had to use a can and a half and the sauce is very chunky. I am sure it will taste good but I guess I will have to run to the store to get what I really want, and the large cans at the store are only $2.

The factory is clearly dumping their dented cans here. 8 out of 12 of two different cases or different Muir Glen products had dented cans and many were from the interior of the case. They could not have been dented after packaging. These should be sold as damaged or seconds since its clearly intentional that dented cans are being sold. Check your grocery shelves. 75% of the product there isn't damaged.

Muir Glen fire roasted are my go to and I buy them regularly. This is only the second (and likely the last) time I will buy them through Amazon. Both purchases included badly dented cans. Fortunately not enough to be unusable but if Amazon is selling dented cans, customers ought to be alerted. I MIGHT pay less for a dented can but getting an entire case of cans (12) and only 3 we're NOT dented doesn't make me happy.

The tomatoes are great - I get the 12 pack case of the whole peeled tomatoes and I crush them while they cook so the shapes end up more "organic" than if they were diced - but unfortunately the cans come in large part dented.

I have received 4 orders of these and there are always some dented cans. In the last 2 orders, very recent, all the cans were dented. As I read up more on botulism and its ability to grow in dented cans, I can't use them anymore.
