I have the Donegan head gear and now several different lens plates. Each provides a different working distance that is as important and the apparent magnification. Donegan Optical is the de facto standard in the industrial world, and these glass lenses are of excellent quality.

I restore American Pocket Watches, this is a must for my tired old eyes. The lens is glass & not the plastic one. The plastic one will scratch too easily for what I do. So if you can afford the price, buy the glass one. YOU WON'T BE SORRY!!

I find that 3 mag is about the most useful power for most close work. Higher magnification (5 - 10) focus distance requires you work within 2-4 inches. Depends on what you need them for but I work in an electronics lab and 3 is best for most of my needs.

Donegan Opivisors are Great! Sturdy & Good Quality. I've had a couple other Brands that were basically junk.
Bought this for more magnification (Also use with the Swing 2.5X Lense) and works excellent.
Would be nice if they offered a Wired version though. Convienient but, Batteries only last a few hrs.
I rewired mine to a ($6) 3vdc/1A wall Supply, so only limitation is Bulb Life.
