they WILL chip and break

Purchased 01/09/15. I spent over $60 on the complete Sorgente set (double old fashioned, cooler, water, and shot glasses). The only ones that survived are the shot glasses because I never take shots and they've been in the cupboard since I bought them. These are *very* thin. The top around the rim is prone to chipping. I cut my lip on one unsuspectingly. I also drank water with glass shards inside. ...and one exploded in my hand as I was wiping it with a sponge. Either I have the worst luck ever, or these glasses are worthless (or both). They've never been handled aggressively. In contrast my Libbey pyrex cups are all still functioning years later. They're at least twice as thick. If you buy these, just know that you are paying for elegance and NOT longevity. Don't breathe on them too strong, god forbid use them for drinking out of. I'm saddened that my cheap Walmart glasses have outperformed these by a long shot. I highly recommend avoiding this brand.
Side note: Their Eclissi plates are thicker but I've still lost 2 out of 12 since 01/12/15 due to chipping. Unacceptable for $110.

Nice! I've had the shot glass version of these ...

Nice! I've had the shot glass version of these glasses for a few years now. I decided to order the double old fashioned (DOF) version because I like the asymmetric look but also because it's actually functional. If you have a glass of scotch or bourbon with some ice, the glass will get some condensation on the outside which can make a glass with straight sides a bit slippery. But not these glasses. The lumpy bumpy irregular surface makes them really easy and enjoyable to grip.
They also look cool with a colored liquid inside. The color helps to show off the asymmetric glass and bends light in interesting ways for a unique look. I get lots of compliments on these. It's not often you find a daily use item that's both artsy and practical but these glasses fit that description.
They are pretty durable but not very expensive. So, I'm not gonna cry if I break one but they survive the dishwasher just fine.

These are our favorite drinking glasses

These are our favorite drinking glasses. They are thick but not heavy, and extremely easy to hold. They don't sweat very much and keep the drink cold. They are also quite sleek and nice looking. We had a set for two years and dropped the glasses more than once, and we finally broke one when it fell off our deck to the cement below. Other than that, they survived falls onto our kitchen tile. We just bought another set, so we have enough for company.
They definitely hold enough liquid. We like to put ice in our cocktails as well as fresh squeezed lime or lemon, and there's still plenty of room for the alcohol and mixers (as well there should be!).

Something has changed...

My brother has several sets of these. They are all high quality with no visible imperfections of seams.
That being said, something has changed.... My new set has very prominent seams, with imperfections including a large blob of glass on the rim. I have to say I am disappointed in what came to me after seeing my brothers for years.

Be careful of which set you purchase!! One is counterfeit and costs more!

Currently on this page the Bormioli-Rocco Sorgente Glasses: s/4 cooler (seventeen ninety-nine) is sold along side Bormioli Rocco Sorgente Cooler Glasses, Set of 4, Gift Boxed (sixteen sixty-four). I've purchased three sets of the Bormioli Rocco Sorgente Cooler Glasses, Set of 4, Gift Boxed. The first two sets in March of 2013 and these glasses not only look and feel great in your hand, they've stood the test of time. Nearly two years later and these are still my favorite glasses. When I purchased my third set of the nice version of these glasses earlier this month, I noticed the Bormioli-Rocco Sorgente Glasses: s/4 coolers and they appeared to have been different glasses. Well, they're not and they were packed so poorly in comparison to the Bormioli Rocco Sorgente Cooler Glasses, Set of 4, Gift Boxed, that I could hear glass rattling around inside of the box and knew that at least one was shattered even before opening the box. They were shipped in a oversized brown box, with no packing materials to account for the extra space, The writing on the outside of the box was very similar wording as the nice versions, but IMO appear to be counterfeit. The Bormioli Rocco Sorgente Cooler Glasses, Set of 4, Gift Boxed were packed very well and looked great. These two sets of glasses should not be sold together! One is clearly from the manufacturer and the other was clearly packed in someone's garage. Save yourself some time and frustration and purchase the nicely packed version of these glasses.
