I have purchased and replaced this several times (dropped out of pocket, fell in toilet, etc.) as I like it better than any of the others I have
tried. I wear it daily. I was disappointed when, after competitors came out with an expensive price tags, Omron raised the price on this quite
a bit (bit is a fitting pun) ...probably only because they could, alas. P.S. I would give it the highest rating if they could make it waterproof!
Great pedometer for daily activity monitoring.

I use this pedometer daily. It is very accurate and has multiple options to track calories, steps, miles, etc. Also covers the last 7 days and stores the info in memory. When battery is low, you have plenty of advanced notice to change it before it stops working. I have bought 3 of these in my lifetime so far since I lost the first one and the other one broke from being crushed accidentally. They can be dropped in water (accidentally dropped them in the toilet one too many times) and still come out working just fine.
VERY DISAPPOINTED

I own this model Omron and have used it for several years without mishap. It works so well for me that I decided to purchase another for my wife. When it arrived, I calibrated it and she began to use it. It wasn't but a few days later that she told me it had stopped working. I checked it over, and although the clock still worked, it would not register any steps. When I checked out the reviews on this particular pedometer, I discovered that several people had experienced the same failure after only a short time. I took advantage of Amazon's liberal return policy, and have since gotten my money back. I'm more disappointed than anything: this is a pretty expensive pedometer as these things go ($33 and change on Amazon, plus shipping), and to just have it stop working was pretty frustrating. Take a pass on this model and opt for the Omron HJ 112. Save a few bucks and hopefully no equipment failures. I will see if it works better, and report on it in future reviews.
Works Great AND Survived a Full Wash Cycle!!!

This unit very accurately measures steps. I love the easy to use functionality and the fact that it resets itself each day and retains the previous week's activity so I don't have to remember each day. I haven't checked it for distance measurement accuracy but that's not what I bought it for.

The amazing thing is that I lost it over the weekend and thought it was gone for good, but then it showed up at the bottom of the washer AFTER the full wash cycle. 95% of the display window was full of water, but to my amazement it still worked. It didn't count steps again until the water drained to about 50%, but it's working like a charm now 4 hours later with only a little water left in the unit.

If I were to make any change to the unit, it would be a stronger clip but that's not to say this one is bad at all and certainly doesn't prevent a 5 star rating in my book.
Couldn't ask for more.

I've been thinking about getting a pedometer for a couple of years.
I've even bought a few- under $30 at local stores and returned them because they were junk, and I wasn't willing to spend big money for a pedometer.
I finally buckled down to get into better shape and I found this little beauty.
After reading all the positive reviews I went for it.
It has been on my hip for a month straight now and I love it. I have even dropped it a couple of times and its still working great.
I check the calibration once a week- count how many steps I take and then see if it matches- and so far it hasnt been off by more than a step or two.
Its super easy to use and funny enough this little thing keeps me motivated to get moving. Every day I try to walk more than the day before.
I love that it keeps track of 'moderate' steps as well as distance and it has a clock on it.

I've already had 2 family members ask for their own for their birthdays.
