Awesome
Filter Body seems fine; included fittings are unsafe for gas line use! Buy different Fittings to use with the body.

As several other reviewers have noted, the plastic hose barb fittings are JUNK! I've worked as a professional mechanic and been around machinery for 30 plus years. While installing a hose on one of the barbs fittings, it snapped in half! The basic metal ends and filter unit seem to be fine. The fittings used are all 1/8" NPT thread on one end to match both ends of the metal ends of the filter unit. You can buy brass hose fittings with 1/8" NPT x what ever size hose barb you need on the other end and then you'll have a reliable gas line system. NOTE to Moeller; you are opening yourself up to product liability issues by selling gas line fittings that are JUNK. Either use a reinforced plastic or brass fittings, or don't send any fittings at all!
Nice filter but small through holes!

Good quality filter/strainer. The kit includes 3/8, 5/16 and 1/4 plastic barbed hose fittings. The holes in the end caps for the fittings are 1/8" NPT unlike another reviewer stated 1/4 inch. Aside from that, the way the assembly is held together, the internal filter retaining portion is threaded into the interior of the cap holes and obstructs about 30% of the already small 1/8" NPT holes.
I was going to use this as a pre filter for a fuel flow sensor in the main 3/8" fuel supply line from the fuel tank to a 130 HP outboard but I am afraid the already small, partially obstructed, end cap holes will restrict fuel flow too much.
Maybe Moeller offers a version with 1/4" or 3/8" NPT caps that would be better suited for larger outboard engines. There is not enough material to enlarge and re-tap the caps to accept even 1/4" NPT fittings. This application required the filter be installed in the suction portion of the fuel line, not on the pressure side of the fuel pump.
Larger fitting holes would get a five star rating. The filter body is well built, but the plastic barbed fittings seriously detract from the overall quality of the product.

REPLACING THE INCLUDED CHEESY PLASTIC FITTINGS WITH BRASS OR STAINLESS WILL REQUIRE 1/8" MNPT FITTINGS!

Stop the crud that stops your outboard.

A well-made piece that catches junk in your fuel before it clogs pumps or injectors, and, you can see that there is fuel flowing.
