It works well to transform 220v into 110v for my outdoor inflatable spa. (No worries the transformer sits in a weatherproof cabinet, no fooling with electricity and water here). The sockets on the front are slightly confusing, one is marked 110v and the other is 220v, but did I not set that at the back from what voltage to what voltage to transform? No the 110v and 220v outlets are what is stated. I am writing that because I had a " typical" 220v plug for 110v outlet and used the 220v outlet, but that did not work. (changed the plugs and problem is solved now). So far so good, my problem seems to be solved.

I bought this for my new Samsung smart TV, which I sent it to India. There is a voltage difference there compared to U.S. The required voltage there is 220V. After going through so much research I bought this voltage transformer and it solved the purpose. We already used for more than a month and there are no issues. It not only works with the TV, but also with Works great with sewing machine, Massage machine, and Xbox. I agree its heavy but its worth it. It meets my standard and works like a champ.
Defective item but left with no real solution ....

Transformer was purchased to run a Honeywell air purifier (purchased at same time) on 230 VAC mains supply in my overseas work location.
I arranged transhipment fm Stateside to where I am now In Singapore. Item just arrived well-packed and brand new but was it was completely dead on arrival even after I checked and replaced the fuse. Now I'm stuck not only with a shiny new paperweight but a brand new Honeywell air purifier (complete with additional spare filters) which I also cannot use.
The cost of returning the defective transformer to Amazon is much higher than the cost of the item itself, so it's just not worth it. Worst of all, I am very reluctant to order a replacement altogether since the first one was brand new but just did not work at all.

Easy to set up has good directions.Not much to do really,has fuse to prevent overload.Just set the pin in the back to your wall voltage,like 110 which is here in U.S. Then plug in your device in the front as needed.I use the 220volt side,visible in the pic at left so it is bumping up the 110 volt coming from the wall to 220volt which I need for my Osram vitalux sunlamp bulb to work properly.I plug my sunlamp in on that right side at the bottom set of holes.Transformer does get warm during operation,but not burning hot.Has red color on/off flip switch as seen in pic
