Great for starting precision holes
Renee B. HealOctober 11, 2017
Great for starting precision holes, however be very carful with the smaller ones, as the tip is very easy to snap off. user error, I know, use light pressure, go slow...
Great item, especially for working with steel.

Did the trick nicely. Indispensable item for working with steel. Good to keep the bit from sliding all over the place. Drill with this first or after you prick punch it and get a starter hole for that bit! The extra weight gives it centrifugal force.
Somewhat useable, but too cheap to send back

Cannot use these in a rotating chuck, the bits are off center. The guy who ran the machine that made these had to know.
Very nice for starting small holes in metals

Regular small drill bits frequently wander, even after punching a starter divot. It seems that this is due to the easily bent small diameter bit moving around. I usually try to 'choke up' on the bit by burying it in the chuck as much as possible, which helps, but sometimes results in a broken bit. These bits solve the problem by keeping a larger diameter most of the bit length, and just a small length of small diameter, so lots less bending going on. I use these for starting a hole, then switch to regular bits for further drilling.
