Got what I expected and is doing fine. Do NOT expect edible fruit from this...very seedy. Banana plants grow in clumps and they all take maintenance by cutting down the fruiting stalk and selecting a pup each year. Not the plant it and forget it kind of plant. florida hill nursery has bananas that fruit...all kinds for less than $9 and just so you know, almost all bananas are winter hardy if you cover them well.
I keep a good humidity around it and give it as much sun ...

Baby banana plant! have some brown edges that I cut off but its thriving, and the top leaf is opening up since it's here, I keep a good humidity around it and give it as much sun as I can, just repoted it into a 6 inch pot, and it's very happy-looks like

This is a very beautiful plant and winter hardy as the title states. I bought two of these. One for my mother and one for my grandmother for Mother's day. Both plants survived Central Kentucky's winters and are thriving. They've had them for 4 years. The first two years the plant struggled to survive due to the harsh winter. The trick is to cover them with a thick blanket of leaves for the winter. My folks also used a winter shrub cover (basically a tent for plants) and the banana plant's trunk was able to survive the winter and establish itself. Instead of growing from scratch every year, the plant now has a huge trunk and much larger leaves. Its very beautiful. We hope it bears fruit next year.

I bought mine from 9GreenBox last June and I was very disappointed with the packaging. I hope the seller package live plants better next time. I bought this plant with a papaya tree and I am attaching photos for you to see how it looked like when I opened the box. The plants were bent. I really thought it will not survive. I had to nurse it well, support the stem and cut damaged leaves. When I first planted this little guy on the ground, some leaves turn yellow and I had to cut them to keep the plant healthy. I think the roots are established on the ground now and this plant has been giving new leaves and is growing and looking healthy. I am even thinking of getting more of these plants very soon and hope the seller will protect them well during shipments. I may try other sellers, but this banana plant is a survivor. I'm in Zone 6.

I ordered this plant a few days ago, it's here already! Standing two feet tall, it is much larger than I anticipated. The soil was moist, the plant is strong. There is one brown leaf, likely from the travel, and a new leaf developing. It came in a long box, packaged in peanut Styrofoam, the soil and plant were completely intact and that couldn't be easy to do. I will be purchasing from this seller again. Thank you!!
Update, It didn't do well outside in direct sunlight. I brought it back in and it is flourishing, growing 2-3 inches a day! I love this plant. It will eventually be planted poolside but for now it is doing well in a garden NW window.
