Bought this for my husband to use on his hunting beagles, second time out the leather tore while the dogs were hunting and the bell was lost. Not good if you're hunting in briar patches He liked the size and sound of the bell. I thought the leather would hold up better than nylon, now I realize that we need a s hook, something that can't get snagged in the brush. Product would be find for open spaces.
Since it is pretty loud I actually attach it to myself

I got this bell on a recommendation on a Hiking with Dogs group after running into a pack of coyotes while taking my dog out on trail. This bell is really loud and works well. We aren't surprising any wildlife anymore! Since it is pretty loud I actually attach it to myself, rather than my dog because I think it would hurt her ears (She wears another smaller bell). Good for anybody who loves the outdoors but doesn't love surprise predators!

Why Bother with a upland beeper when you have a bell like this. Can hear from far enough away and the dog is ready to hunt as soon as he hears it come out of the pack.

Bought this bell for my hunting dog. I liked everything about the bell except the construction, third day out bird hunting and the clapper came off, worthless at that point. Very disappointed.

I love the bell. My dog can be heard from a distance. The only thing I would want to change is the leather attachment. It would be better if it were larger to fit over wider collars. I had to buy a narrower collar to fit it.
