Takes some time to put together and even with some tweaking, it looks cheap. The bottom "Drawer" is very hard to open and close and no matter what we do it is slightly off kilter. The bottom "Drawer" is not actually a drawer - there are no sides, no bottom. You need to order some hanging file folders to make it functional. My printer fits nicely on top which is why I purchased this item.

I bought this cabinet plus the computer desk, writing desk and printer desk. The whole set is really beautiful. It's real wood, no press wood, which is so nice. Everything is at a nice height for working, there is good storage and space under the pieces for anything else. I love this whole set and it looks great without taking up a huge amount of room. The only reason I gave the cabinet 4 stars instead of 5 is that it really depends on who is putting the cabinet together and how they do it. It has to be exactly right or the cabinet is a little tweaked, which isn't a huge deal. Also, one of the other pieces came with dings on one of the pieces, again, not a big deal. If you think this could work for you and you are wondering if you should buy it, yes!

Excellent construction on this real wood file cabinet. I hate particle board and it was a relief to find a quality piece of wood furniture that was easy to assemble (for a file cabinet). I expect this file cabinet to quite frankly last forever due to it's sturdy construction. I'm currently using it to hold my heavy laser printer in my computer room/office area and it's great to look at as well.

The only reason this gets 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the fact the file cabinet drawer is an extremely tight fit. Not in terms of opening or closing though, the height simply doesn't accommodate file folder with identification tabs well. They brush against the top frame when moving the drawer in and out. This isn't frequently accessed for me so it's not a deal breaker but for someone who would use it regularly I could see this becoming an annoyance.

While the colors may look different, this matched all the other Winsome Wood Honey color desk products I purchased.

We bought this cabinet because we wanted to use it as a printer stand, and it fits our printer (Epson WF-3520) perfectly while providing drawers for storing smaller amount of paper and spare ink cartridges. The finish is good, the legs are level -- you might be surprised how many out there aren't -- and the drawers slide pretty well, at least after I put a little lubrication on the top 3 drawer guides. The lowest drawer has a really nice glide and doesn't need any lubrication. (note that the bottom drawer is strictly for hanging files; it has a front, back, and file hangers, but no sides or bottom.)

Assembly instructions could have been better. Like so many instruction booklets nowadays, they are almost entirely pictographs to deal with multi-language buyers, so no words to speak of. If you go slowly and think your way through each step of the assembly process, you'll probably be OK. But if you're not too strong on figuring things like this out, I suggest you find a friend who can do it for you.

Very happy with the final result: It looks surprisingly nice for the price, and it suits my needs perfectly.
The instructions were detailed and reasonably clear. I suggest laying out the pieces and labeling them with post-its to correspond to the drawings in the instructions. That way you will know if there are any missing pieces before you start (there were not in my case) and you won't have to hunt through and identify the pieces as you proceed.

Assembly was a little tricky. As has been noted elsewhere, do not completely tighten all the screws in each step until that step is completed. Once you have the pieces lined up and screws partly tightened you will be better able to maneuver the pieces for the best final fit.

The real problem I had was with a drawer slide. After I completed assembly and tried to insert the drawers, I was unable to get a drawer to fit in the lower slot. It would simply not slide in more than halfway. I tried each of the 3 drawers in every location and found that the problem was with the runners on each side of that slot: they were simply too wide by about 1/4". I was able to remove the runners and trim the excess, after which the drawer fit perfectly.

For a handy person this was not that difficult to diagnose and correct, but I deducted 2 stars because many purchasers would have needed to return the item for an exchange.
