I am German but have been living in the US for over 40 years. Every time I go back to visit family I end up bringing at least 2-4 lbs of this sauce mix back. I use it with beef and pork and it makes the most delicious gravy, especially good over potatoes or Spaetzle. It is always a hit with anyone that tastes it for the first time. The other one I like is the Rahm sauce by Knorr. It is a bit more creamier.

Best used lightly. I'm a gravy fan and was hoping this would be similar to my grandmother's but it doesn't taste as I expected. It's not bad, but it's not my new favorite.

So good and all you have to do is add water. The container is big so you will have enough gravy for some time! This gravy is very tasty and is normally used for beef. The best part is you can open the container and use as much as you want and close it. Unlike some packages where you open it and are forced to use it all.

Love this stuff. Our German au pair brought some over with her and taught us to make Spaetzle. I use it for gravy, in the crock pot for stew and anything that calls for beef bouillon. I ordered this on Amazon because I cannot find it anywhere in the state I live in, so I ordered it from Germany -the package arrived within a couple of weeks and the package was undamaged. I then ordered two more to have on hand and will never use another beef bouillon again! This is the best stuff!

I keep looking for the original Bratensauce which until this day I could not find anywhere in the US. But this is a good alternative. The size is small given what it costs, but it makes a darn good brown sauce.
