A close second, tied with the European version. Both have barley malt as the main ingredient with no added colorings. The Swiss Ovomaltine is in solid first place with more cocoa than any of the others. All 3 are superior to the US made version. I have all 4 versions.

Was not like it use to be disappointing would not purchase again plus over priced.

Tastes great. What I've been searching for!

Once upon a time Ovaltine was produced in a factory in the western suburbs of Chicago. Once upon a time it was readily available on the shelves of the grocery stores in our country. And once upon a time I was a kid growing up in the 1950s who had a dad who drank Ovaltine regularly. Needless to say, I began drinking it too. Not only did I drink it, but I found that the little dry crystals made a great topping on ice cream. Then I became an adult. I forgot about Ovaltine. The factory closed. And I figured that Ovaltine had stopped being produced. Imagine my surprise when I discovered recently that it was still available. And imagine my greater surprise when I discovered that it still had that rich malty and chocolaty taste that, when mixed with milk, makes for a really wonderful drink, whether at breakfast or as an afternoon snack.

I like that this product is less sweet than the American version. I wouldn't go back to the version in grocery stores. I'm glad that this product is from the UK as opposed to the one(s) available from countries where one cannot necessarily trust the manufacturing processes. In fact, I will only purchase the version actually made in the UK.
