I am doing a science fair project involving culturing bacteria in a petri dish for a regional middle school science fair. I only needed about ten or so swabs for collecting samples. I went on Amazon to look for a good deal on swabs, and most dealers were offering ridiculously pricey costs for a small pack of applicators. Then I found Medline's listing, and could NOT believe the price for the amount of swabs I would have gotten. So, I risked around 10 bucks to get 10x the amount of swabs I'd actually needed and I was not disappointed. The box includes dozens of packets containing two swabs each. I opened up a few, and noticed that none of the swabs we're damaged, and no packets have been ripped open that would desterilize the contents. The applicators are approximately 6 in.(15.2) cm) and are durable, if that really matters.

Summed Up: These are your average swabs and do what they need to do, but also comes in an ultra-crazy quantity for a low cost. I would definitely buy from Medline again, but I don't need to, because I don't know what to do with the other 90 packets.. :)

Great for applying ointments, etc. to a wound and making certain of sterilization and avoiding infection to the site.

I use them to put antibiotic cream on a peritoneal catheter exit site to prevent infection. They are very dependable - easy to open sterile package and always sealed.

I don't know if I just didn't realize how many were in the box or what, but wow, you get a TON of applicators with this, like I will never ever have to buy cotton tipped applicators again in this lifetime for my mom lol. I use one pack (which is two applicators) 3 times a day.

I was specifically looking for these ones because of a few reasons:
Nice long stick
The cotton doesn't get all "fuzzy" like with regular qtips
2 to a pack
Most importantly these are sterile

I use 3 a day for her lips and to put Aquaphor on them and I use 3 a day for her sutures with Aquaphor. These are very nice and help me get the job done.

The product details say, "100 per box," and I ordered three boxes. I have purchased Medline swabs in boxes from other sources in the past. I didn't get boxes. I received three unmarked plastic bags filled with a large bunch of paper-wrapped two packs of swabs. The amounts appeared to be as advertised. I didn't bother to count them, but they filled an old Medline 100-count box I had. I would have preferred boxes, as they are easier to store and stack. It is also easier to pull swabs out of a box, rather than fish them out of a big bag. The swabs seemed fine. I'm assuming the vendor is buying in bulk and then dividing the swabs into their own bags. For a sterile product, I'd prefer less handling by third party sellers. The manufacturer sells these in 100-count boxes.
